SCHOOL HEWS (Continued from page 1) of 1966 who were in attendance at Indiana University last year. Speedway students earned the highest grade point average of the twenty-one schools who had between 27 and 47 freshman students enrolled. Speedway had thirty-seven students included in the average. Speedway placed third at the New Castle Speech Tourney in which fifty-one schools participated. Pam Wegener won second pldce in Dramatic Interpretation and Guy Roush placed second in Discussion. Roger Noonan was awarded fourth place in Radio Announcing, and Lora Hittle placed fourth and John Sheetz placed fifth in Original Oratory. The Sparkplugs lost their opening game to the Pike Red Devils by a 68-59 score. On Saturday night Speedway won over Lawrence Central, 54-53. The Speedway reserve team lost to Pike 43-30 and to Lawrence Central 53-39. In other basketball games played last week, Speedway freshmen defeated Danville 58-49, Speedway Bth grade won over Zionsville 60-27, and Speedway 7th grade outscored Zionsville 42-32.

Tea For Women Accountants Members of the Indianapolis chapter of American Society of Women Accountants will honor new members and guests with a tea on Sunday, December 3, 1967, from two to four o’clock, at the home of Miss Dorothy Kirkham, 6244 Central Avenue. Miss Patricia E. Seiter is president of the organization. Mrs. Virginia Vest and Miss Alice Kenworthy, co-chairman of the chapter development committee, are in charge of arrangements. Asssisting will be the following committee chairmen: Mrs. L. R. Hunley, social; Mrs. S. Neal Melinm, membership; and Mrs. Thelma Davis, hospitality.

The chancel flowers will be given by Mr. and Mrs. Veraer Farmer and Ralph in loving memory of Mrs. Susan Silcox; and by Mr. and Mrs. Rodger Ward in memory of Mr. Ward's father, Mr. Ralph A. Ward. We will conduct our annual observance of The Hanging of the Greens next Sunday from 3:00 to 5:15 pan. Bring your entire family to help with the decoration of the church and educational wing. Come to the sancutary at 3:00 for brief worship service and statement of purpose; from 3:20 to 4:15 working in various areas and classrooms; 4:15 to 4:45 visiting the church rooms to see the results; 4:15 to 5:00 program in Fellowship Hall* which will include Angelus Choir presenting “Nativity for the Vary Young." From 5:00 on a social hour, with refreshments and time for fellowship. Choir rehearsals as follows: Monday, Boys’ Choir, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.; Wednesday, Angelus Choir, 3:30 to 4:15, and Motet Choir, 6:00 to 7:00; Thursday, Chorale Choir, 3:30 to 4:30, and Chancel Choir, 7:30 to 9:30 pm. Six Circles will hold their December meetings next week. EUNICE Circle will meet in Fellowship Hall Tuesday, December 5, at 7:30 pm. Mrs. Grace Rahm who will discuss the needs and work of the Marion County Juvenile Center. HANNAH Circle will meet in the Bethany Room Tuesday, December 5, at 7:30 pm. The program “A Child Is Bora” presented by Miss Geneva Walter. JOANNA Circle will meet with Mrs. Nancy Greer, 1756 N. Lynhurst Drive, also on Tuesday, December 5, 7:30 pm. Since having zip code numbers is so important in addressing mail, you will want to have one of these before tackling your Christmas card list. Call any member of the Sr. High Department (or church office). A drive is being conducted for books for the College Room (located at 18th and College). Our church is interested in helping the project at this time and if you care to bring books which would be good reading for teen-agers (either educational or fiction) you may leave them on the table in the north hall the next time you come to church. Los Amigos Class will hold its December supper and meeting on Friday, December Bth, at 6:30 pm ■ ;T' r The next Second Sunday Series will be held December 10th, 7:00 pan. “A Ceremony of Carols” by Benjamin Britten, and “Christmas Oratorio” by Saint-Saens, will be presented by foe Treble Singers, Chancel Choir, 14 soloists and ensemble singers, with Barnice Grubb, harpist. At foe reception following we will be shown reproductions of great religious art from our newly established Art Lending Library. Child care will be provided.
