Toastmistress Club The Riley Toastmistress Club of Indianapolis, will hold its Annual Christmas Dinner Party at the Indianapolis Athletic Club on December 6, 1967, at 6:15 PJd. AFNB Elect Assistant Vice Presidents American Fletcher National Bank and Trust Company, Indianapolis, has announced the election of four assistant vice presidents. Today’s (Tuesday, November 21) action was announced by Frank E. McKinney, chairman of the board, and H. Prentice Browning, president, following a meeting of the board of directors. Elected, an assistant vice president in the AFNB Commercial Loan Department was Frank E. McKinney, Jr., recently a loan officer with The First National Bank of Chicago. He will join AFNB December 1. Promoted to assistant vice presidents were Thomas M. French, Kiefer Mendenhall and Thomas E. Mock, all of the Commercial Loan Department

December 2 Lollipop Concert To Be At Northwest High School The Indianapolis Symphony Ensemble conducted by Renato Pacini will present the second Lollipop Concert of the season this Saturday, December 2, in the Northwest High School Auditorium. It will begin at 11 am. Paul Hilgeman, a trumpeter with the Indianapolis Symphony, will emcee the program. A special attraction at this concert will be a children’s paintting class from the Indianapolis Art League. Fourteen children will paint their impressions of “Clair de Lime” by Debussy and “Sabre Dance” by Khachaturian. Instructor Mrs. Robert s. Chappell will give an introduction before they start their painting, explaining color, mood and so forth. The children will be colorfully dressed to enable the audience to spot them easily. Among the delightful selections sure to please the younger set will be “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” by Marks in a full orchestra presentation. Chairman of this concert is Mrs. Louis F. Duh, Jr. Her committee from the West Side Symphony Group includes: Mrs. A. Alan Fischer, tickets Mrs. Robert E. O’Harrow, mailing Mrs. Joseph S. Gummere, schools Mrs. R. U.S. Navy Award Presented To Union Carbide Coatings Service The “Forty-One For Freedom Award” sponsored by the United States Navy ter outstanding contribution to fire Fleet Ballistic Missile Weapons System was presented to Union Carbide Coatings Service, Speedway, Ind. (formerly Flame-Plating Dept Linde Division). The award commemorates the commissioning of the forty-first Polaris submarine, bringing to completion a program begun eleven years ago to provide our National leadership with a weapon of peace without precedent In a letter to Mr. Warren L. Donnelly, Vice President Union Carbide Corporation—Materials Systems Division, Rear Admiral Levering Smith, Director, Special Projects, Department of the Navy, stated “It is my hope that you will regard this certificate not as a symbol of a task that is done, for that task continues, but rather as a measure of thp Navy’s confidence in your company’s willingness to help meet the National need, whenever that need is dear”.
Union Carbide Coatings Service applies a plating of pure tungsten metal to the exit cone section on the first stage engine of foe Polaris Missile. The coating is designed to provide a barrier against the erosive force generated during firing of the rocket’s solid propellant powerplant During foe course of this program, Union Carbide has plated several thousand exit cones without ever experiencing a single processing failure. The Coatings Service Department, part of the Materials Systems Division of Union Carbide, provides an engineering service to industry for applying custom tailored hard surface coatings to machine parts and products for preventing problems of wear and abrasion. Practically every Industry is a customer of Coatings Service, particularly the aircraft and aerospace fields where abrasion and erosion problems are most severe and least tolerable. This worldwide business has its headquarters at 1245 Main Street, Speedway Indiana 46224.

A. C. Moldthan, Lac. 4909 W. 16th Street, announced foe recent appointment of C. K. “Bud” Hoff to their Red Estate sales staff in foe Speedway office. Mr. Hoff received his formal training to become a Broker at foe Keystone Red Estate school Prior to his becoming associated with Mr. Mddfoan he was with Griffin Realty, also Spencer Realty and Builder Douglas Whitson. After college Mr. Hoff was private secretary to the General Agent of foe C 6 El Railroad in Terre Haute and was promoted to their office in Indianapolis as Chief Clerk when he and his wife Ruth moved here in 1931. Later he became Chid Clerk of foe Wabash Railway in Indianapolis and in Birmingham, Alabama, also was Traffic Manager of foe Lone Star Cement Corporation and for more than twenty years he was Office and Warehouse Manager in foe Indianapolis Sted Company. Residing with foe Hoffs, at 6503 West 13th Street, is Jorges Kock from Denmark who has been a student in Indianapolis the past 2b years. Proir to that his brother Dr. Hdge Kock lived with the Hoffs four years while he was a student here. The Hoffs became acquainted with the Kock brothers while Mr. Hoff was an International Officer of the Y*s Men’s dubs. They are charter members of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ in Speedway. He is a member of Mystic Tie Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite and has been a member of the YMCA more than 40 continuous years.
