"All The Way Home" (Continued from page 1) ginning, and found that I was very incorrect—this was no amateurish rehearsal, but as enthusiastic, well-done preparation for performance. I found all of the actors knew their lines, and delivered them well So, I began to digest the “message” of the play. I witnessed something I shall not forget until another Pulitzer Prize-winning play is adapted from a Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, something which I doubt will happen for quite awhile. • I found the first act to be a head-in” to the powerful drama of the second and third acts. Seldom before had I ever seen such a moving story performed by such talented actors and actresses.

One of my friends later said, “Pam Sedam is the best actress I can think of, including Hollywood and television.” After watching more rehearsals and losing a few more tears, I must tend to agree with him. Speaing of crying, I do not relish the thought of admitting to the entirety of Speedway the fact that the play affected me that much, but it is true, But, let me say, I laughed as much or more than I cried. The comic relief—and I DO mean “relief”—provided by Marla McCormick and Tom Burnett is in places funnier than those plays who disguise themselves under the heading of “Comedy”. Please believe me—this article is not a “plug”—l simply wanted to express my views on this mov-

Some people say, “The church is always asking for money.” Even if this was 100% true, the expression should be squelched because church people, places and purposes face a constantly growing need for money to cany on the work that needs to be done. The world is topsy turvy enough as it is but stop and think how gastly unlivable it would be without churches. This brings to mind the meaningful words ot Peter Marshall. the revered former chaplain of the U.S. Senate “Surely there is something wrong with our lives and standards ot values, when we compare what we spend for amusements and what we give to the church. There are gifts made at a cost and some are willing to do without personal comforts in order to have a real part in the Kingdom ot God. But there are others whose contributions are more casual and their gifts are more like tips; less than the annual duos in the club; less than the amount they spend on non-essentials.” The thought may be worth thinking about • • • Farley Speedway Funeral Homo. 2950 North High School Hoad.
