60th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY Mr. and Mrs. George Wade will be honored with an open house at the home of their son, John M. Wade, Michigan Meadows, Apt 1405, 3800 W. Michigan St, Wednesday, Nov. 22, 4 to 8 pan. All friends are invited and welcome. Cards and friendly smiles will be appreciated no gifts, please. Mr. Wade (George) was with the Bell Telephone Company during the 2nd World War and on the City Weights and Measures for a while in the late 1940’5. Mrs. Wade (Charlotte) was at Riverside Golf Course lunch stand and ticket seller for many years before going blind. She is now doing work for the Red Cross and Riley Hospital Both are from the Old Riverside district. They have two sons, one grandson and one greatgranddaughter.

A Student looks At "All The Way Home" Being somewhat interested in dramatics, I have seen several dramas on the Speedway stage, but none which so impressed me as “all the Way Home,” Student Theatre’s November production. Being on the light crew for the show, I decided that instead of getting into mischief on Hallowe’en eve, I would saunter up to rehearsal and stay out of trouble, even if it meant having to watch an unpolished practice. Fall Sports Banquet The Speedway Lions held their annual Fall Sports Banquet honoring the Cross-Country and Football teams of Speedway High School on Nov. Bth at tL< High School cafeteria. Lion Donald Ross introduced the speaker Robert Springer, Football coach of Washington High School, who spoke to the young men about building “Courage, and Character, in Athletics”. His talk was well received by all. Special Awards in Athletic acievement went to Joey Toms, Improved Cross-Country; Jim Muir Most Valuable Cross-Coun-try; Darrell Rains for both Most Improved and Most Valuable in Football; Rick Aran jo, Best Defenceman; and Denny Pelley for Lineman of the year. The Hanna Scholastic award was presented to Bruce Lott. The Lions wish to thank the parents and guests for making the evening a success for the young men.

Mr. Gentry L. Kirby celebrated hip 25th anniversary with the Linde Division of Unicm Carbide Corporation on November 3rd. Presentation of his 25-Year Service Award and an AtmosHiritage perpetual motion clock was made to Mr. Kirby at the Sdeedway Laboratories by Mr. T*. J. McGuire, Manager of Administration. Following the presentation ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. Kirby attended a luncheon in their honor at the Holiday Inn
NW. After joining the Linde Speedway Factory as a weldor in 1942, Mr. Kirby took time out for military service in the U.S. Navy Seabees. Following his return to the Linde organization, Mr. Kirby transferred to the Laboratories in 1956. Mr. and Mrs. Kirby, long-time residents of the Speedway community, have three daughters. Catherine, a graduate of Purdue and recently married, is now teaching in Warrensburg, Missouri. Twin daughters Kay and Karen are in their freshman year at Indiana University.
Speedway Lioness Club westwood Country Club will be the meeting place for the Speedway Lioness, Nov. 20, 1967 at 7:45 PM. Come prepared to buy your tickets for the Christmas Dinner which will be held at Holiday Inn Northwest, Dec. 11, 1967. The Lioness tickets will be paid for from our treasury so all you need to purchase is one for your husband or guest. Mrs. Walter Fritz will give the program on package decorations which we all will enjoy. Mrs. John Whitmore and her committee will serve the refreshments.
