TRAVELOGUE (Continued from page 1) gious documentary pictures, filmed in the Holy Land. These films were selected as the best religious series of 1961. JORDAN . THE LAND OF LAWRENCE is an all-color extraordinary film on a land all of know about from our Bible reading. We will see the “promised land” from the top of Mount Nebo as Moses must have seen it. Mr. WINTER demonstrates the bouyancy of the Dead Sea. The familiar area, the wilderness of Judea, is traveled. We will have a glimpse of the “Dead Sea Scrolls” the discovered them, and how hefouTtd-lhewr/An extremely interesting visit is made to the Walls of Jerico, the spot where the Woman of Samaria met Jesus, Jacob’s Well This is where the River Jordan flows leading us on to the Shepherd’s Fields, Bethlehem, Jerusalem, the Sacred City of Christians, Moslems and Jews, the Garden of Gethsemane and the Mount of Olives. Then on the Trail of Lawrence of Arabia, we’ll see the famous Hejaz Railroad, see the Raiders Camel Caravan trod the old railway bed. There will be men of the Beni Sakhr Tribe who, with the Howeitat, fought beside Lawrence. Bets are down and the race is on (a camel race, that is!) Fantastic Horsemanship is demonstrated and next we find the “Well of Moses”. We’ll climb to the “High Place”, ascend to “Ed Deir”, then a Temple fashioned by hewing away a mountain. And now for a helicopter ride, from which King Hussein shows us how the Dead Sea, the Jordan Valley, and Jerusalem appear from the air. A most beautiful sunset ends the days as the bells peal out across the “Sacred City”. High atop Mount Nebo a Bedouin makes his evening prayer, "Alla’hu Akbar”, (God is great). Yes, in the “promised land” God is indeed great.
