Way-McCain (Continued from page 1) Miss Marian Hammer, a sorority sister of the bride, was her only attendant. She was attired in gold chiffon. The empire bodice was fashioned with a slight scoop neckline and elbow length sleeves. Contrasting flowered braid accented the waistline, and the slender skirt with a redingote effect fell gracefully to a floor length. She carried a cascade of bronze pompoms and ivy. Veteran’s Day, November 11th, has changed in meaning and symbol. Once known as Armistice Day in commemoration of cessation of World War 1, the day is celebrated now to honor present and ex-service men. Ironically, perhaps this change is for the best, because the hopes that brought on Armistice Day in the beginning, have for the most part, been unfulfilled. We see this clearly as our military men are stationed around the world trying to defend the unfulfilled hopes of Armistice Day. Veteran’s Day is a time to honor the millions of men and women who served, and are serving our country. Nothing we can say can add to the honor they deserve. Veteran’s Day SHOULD ALSO be a time for unified prayer for peace with for all people throughout the world(. .. ~. .. ... Farley Speedway Funeral Home, 6968 North Huh Scheel Road. Phono 661-1186.
