The Paper Company will accept old telephone books, but have asked us to put them in separate crates from the papers and boxes. Of course, no magazines, please. St. Christopher regular weekly Friday night Social as usual tomorrow night in the school social room. These Socials are for adults only. Our school children will begin their Fall Candy Drive tomorrow, October 13th. It will continue for ten days, ending October 23rd. They will go from door to door, and will have name tags plainly displayed, so that they can be easily identified. The children will offer a new line of candy this year made by the Heath Candy Company. There will be two selections, a box of 20 Heath bars for SI.OO and a vacuum tin can of chocolate crunch for SI.OO. The Reverend Mr. David Lindemann, a seminarian, will come to St. Christopher on the week-ends to assist Father Lindemann and Father Kessler. He may help distribute Holy Communion, baptize, and preach. Reverend Mr. Lindemann is the nephew of Father Lindemann.

SCOUT TROOP 410 The twenty members of Boy Scout Troop 410, a new troop in Speedway, will be conducting a candy sale fund-raising campaign from the 13th to the 28th of October. The proceeds of this sale will be used to purchase camping equipment for this troop. The boys will be contacting you at home and in the shopping areas.
Father Lindemann was confined to his bed the early part of last week with the flu. He said 11:30 Mass on Saturday morning and on Sunday. At the recent Honor Convocation at Brebeuf High School, three St. Christopher boys were honored. They were Kenneth Herrick, Dave Jerome, and Jim Joyce. All three boys are Juniors. Father Kessler said the 6:15 Mass on Monday morning for Mary Zener at the request of Jack and Gene Bertrand. The 8 o’clock Mass remembered Olga Picchette at the request of the Norbert Keller family. The early Mass on Tuesday morning was said for Ernest Ellerman. Bernice Nichols requested the Mass. The late Mass was said for Leo Cassidy. Merle Cassidy requested the Mass. At 6:15 on Wednesday morning, the Mass was for Mrs. Minta Mitchell, requested by Catherine Tracy. At 8 o’clock, the Mass was for Kenneth F. Grimm, requested by Caroline O’Neal. Julia Fay was remembered in the early Mass this morning. Nora Quinn requested the Mass. May Briskie was remembered at the late Mass. Friends of Agnes Benedetto requested the Mass. Tomorrow morning at 6:15, the Mass will be said for the deceased father and brother of Joseph Gibson, at the request of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Gibson. At 8 o’clock, the Mass will be said for Louise Fierek at the request of the Leonard Benedetto family. The Mass at 6:15 on Saturday morning will be for the special intention of the Mathis family. At 11:30, Father Lindemann will say the Mass for Mary Gibbs at the request of friends. The Annual Turkey Dinner will be Sunday, November sth, in the school dining room. Ham dinners will also be served. Home-made pies made in St. Christopher’s own kitchens will be featured Dinners will be $1.50 for adults and 75c for children, dessert extra. God’s housekeepers this Friday and Saturday are Christine Reynolds, Helen Houk, Rosalee Londry, Jean Bertrang, Bea Theising, Nancy Goodman, and Nancy Dieg. Next week there will be two Twi-Light Evenings of Recollection at the Fatima Retreat House, 5353 E. 56th Street, for high school girls ... on October 17th, Tuesday, for Freshman and Sophomores and on October 19th, Thursday, for Junior and Seniors. Troop 410 meets every Monday evening at 7:00 PM. in the St. John’s Episcopal Church in Meadowood, just North of Wheeler School. The boys participated in the “Buddy Camporee” held in Hulman’s Field last Saturday & Sunday. For their project they fabricated and erected a “Signal
Tower” which stood as a landmark for the weekend. For their camp & pioneer project they received the 2nd place rating in competition with the 35 troops of the West District. Their next campout will be Nov. 11th & 12th at Bradford Woods (hopefully with their own equipment instead of rental equipment).
