Astronaut John Glenn will be long remembered and honored as one of our first astronauts. He should be remembered and honored for a second reason as well. In facts, we suspect the second reason supplied him with his courage in our pioneer days of space conquests. What is that second reason? In his TV press conference following his orbital flight, he was asked if he said a special prayer before his journey into space. He replied, “No”. Maybe you too recall how he said, in effect, religion was a daily habit with him, not something to be turned on or off like a water faucet when needed. His statement is worth remembering. Any clergyman will say it is never to late to turn to religion, even in times of turmoil and stress. But, have you ever noticed those who have happy, confidant, every day smiles are usually those who adhere to their beliefs in every day living? Some call it prayer in time. Because time never stands still, it is worth remembering that in any one’s life time, it is never too late . . .Farley Speedway Funeral Home, MM North Ntph School Head. Phone Ml-UM.
