Rosary was said last Wednesday- night at the George Usher Funeral Home and his funeral services were held Thursday morning. September 21st, in the Marian College chapel. Father Kessler said the 6:15 Mass on Monday morning for George F. Parker, Sr., at the request of the Bennett Ligon family. On Tuesday morning the early Mass remembered Mary Catherine Gibbs. The Eaton sisters asked that the Mass be Father Lindemann said the later Mass for a special intention. PERSONALS Robert E. Vollmer has joined Eli LiUy and Company as an industrial engineer in the capsule operations division. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Vollmer was graduated from New Haven High School in 1961. In 1966 he received a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering from Purdue University and in 1967 a Masters of Business Administration degree from Butler University. Vollmer is a member of the American Institute of Industrial Engineers. He and his wife, Barbara, live at 4944 West Fourteenth Street Indianapolis. Jim Keating, 1965 graduate of Speedway High School, recently received an honor from Ball State University as one of the 21 outstanding juniors. Jim has been Vice-Pres. of the Sophomore class at Ball State, and is now Vice-Pres. of Elliott Hall Council, Scholarship Chairman, is a member of the Ball State Varsity Debate team, DSRTKA (Debate Honorary fraternity), and is the Newman Club representative to Lafayette Religion Council. He holds memberships in the University Political Party; Ball State Theatre; and has just been elected President of the Student Foundation, on of the most important organizations on campus. NORTHWEST KI WAN'S MEET One of the leaders of the Federal government’s war against crime and racketeering will come to Indianapolis next week to join in a civic salute to the law enforcement agencies in the Indianapolis metropolitan area. Henry E. Petersen, Chief of he Organized Crime and Racketeering Section of the Department of Justice, will be the principal speaker at a Kiwanissponsored dinner Oct. 3 in the Murat Temple honoring Marion and Johnson County police men and women.

SPEEDWAY COED CROWNED QUEEN Miss Lynn Parks of Speedway City was crowned Homecoming Queen at Indiana Central College last Friday on the entrance steps of Ransburg Auditorium. She and her four attendants were presented between halves of the Greyhounds' homecoming football game Saturday with the University of Illinois at Chicago Circle. Miss Parks was chosen in a student vote. The four other coeds who were candidates for queen constitute her court They are Janet Jones of Peoria, HL, and

formerly of Louisville, Ky.; Jane Middlesworth of Greentown, Ind.; Mary Ann Shellhamer of Wabash, Ind.; and Susan Springer of Van Wert Ohio. Queen Lynn is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph E. Parks, 3030 N. Auburn, Speedway, Ind. Miss Parks graduated from Speedway High School to 1965. She is a junior and psychology major at Indiana Central. Heretofore the Homecoming Queen had been crowned during the intermission of the football game. The student government decided to have the coronation after a Homecoming Eve. bonfire this year.
