Our bodies are well fed, but our souls are underfed when we fail to say, “We thank Thee for our food.” Even with the prayer at meal time, our souls sear from malnutrition when we ignore the constant hunger pangs, the silent suffering of starving multitudes. Indisputable sad statistics show 4 out of 5 people on earth are underfed. Two out of three people on earth have constant, horrible hunger. They NEVER have had enough or get enough to eat. Unlike many of us who despair when food wants, likes and dislikes must be changed to overcome an overweight problem, these starving people have other reasons for despair. They have never once enjoyed the luxury of snitching snacks between meals. They can not even find the snacks and dare not mention meals. They have good reason to agree with Sophocles who wailed, “Better never to have been born at all.” Their predicament is by far the most serious problem in the world today. Proof will be shown here next week. Watch for it. . . . Farley Speedway Funeral Home. 2950 North High School Road. Phone 291-1193.

Mrs. Stucky said, “The workshop will enable students and older adult leaders to discuss together new and effective ways to facilitate membership recruitment and fund raising at the beginning of this school year.” Mrs. Donald Sappenfield, New Albany, chairman of the conference, reported that the sessions are open to the public and a schedule of events may be obtained from county mental health associations or the Mental Health Association in Indiana, 615 North Alabama Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46204.
