Each growing specimen and stone has a placque adjacent to it, giving its English and Latin name, as well as the Biblical reference. Popular interest in botany of the Bible dates from very early times. Contributions to the subject were made by Aristotle, Plato, Herodotus, and even Plutarch. The first book that dealt entirely with these plants mentioned in the scripture was published in 1566. From that time until the present date, numerous students of this subject have published their weeks. The latest and most

SHRINE BOWL FOOTBALL GAME Officials and coaches of the Indiana Shrine Bowl Football game whcih will be played Saturday night, August 12th, met at Victory Field yesterday for final approving of the field lay-out and seating arrangements. For baseball, the park will ac-
commodate 12,900, including approximately 2,000 bleacher seats. The Shrine Officials decided against using any of the bleacher seats. C. H. “Bud” Ellis, Chairman of the Shrine Bowl Board of Directors, advised that Parquet seats will be erected to bring excellent seating arrangements for 12,500 avid fans. Ellis announced that the Shrine Bowl office has already received orders for 9,500 tickets from the Indiana Shrine Temples in Evansville, Terre Haute, Indianapolis, Fort Wayne and Hammond. Public sale of tickets will open Monday morning. All net proceeds of the game will go to the Shriners Hospitals for Crippled Children, of which there are twenty-two. More than 250-000 children have been treated in Shriners Hospitals regardless of race, creed or color, and wtihout any charge whatsoever.
The head coaches, Red Faught of Franklin College for the South team, and Dick Young of Anderson College for the North Squad, went over the field lay-out with Ellis and approved it. Eddie Dick, Victory Field groundskeeper will cover the skinned area of the baseball diamond with sod, and will line the grid-iron. One of the two squads will use the visiting team locker room at Victory Field. The other team will establish its quarters in the CYO Stadium across Sixteenth Street because the home club house will not be available. William Kidney, Jr., Director of the Shrine Bowl Athletic Department, and Dr. Herbert Smith, Chairman of the 1967 game, met with Ellis this week to formulate the Shrine Bowl radio and television networks. Stations in Indiana are contributing time for the broadcast and telecast of the game. Smith announced that a 30minute parade featuring bands and marching units from the five Indiana Shrine Temples will precede the kick-off. Also, all Shrine Units and some highly talented children from the Shriners Hospitals will be here for the halftime show. Shrine Temples in many states conduct All-Star Bowl games which have been annual events for several years. Some of the children who perform at those games will be at the Indiana Shrine Bowl game. Two teams, composed of 66 outstanding 1967 high school graduates from districts north and south of U. S. 40 east of Indianapolis and U.S. 36 west to the Illinois line, will compete in this outstanding event. Faught is planning to build the South offense around all-around, all-time, all-star Larry Highbaugh of Indianapolis Washington. To counter the high-balling Highbaugh, Young will toss a troika at the South, consisting of Speedway’s John Allen, Tipton’s Louie Guenther and Bob Belei, Gary Wallace’s 195 pound halfback.

The biggest swindle the world has ever seen is taking place in front of your eyes every day of every week. It is a national disgrace! When a person loses money in a swindle, the loser learns a lesson. The loser at least has a second chance to make sure he is not swindled again. But suppose you don’t have a second chance? Suppose you are swindled out of your right to live? Sounds like a strange swindle? Not at all . . . Every day, human beings are swindled out of a right to live. An apathetic public shrugs its shoulders, even while officials predict with mathematical accuracy the number of unsuspecting victims who will be swindled. The swindled victims wind up as mere statistics to be compared with still later statistics as the count in traffic fatalities continues. Isn’t it about time each one of us asked ourselves these three simple questions? I—Do I want to be swindled out of my right to live? . . . 2—What can I do to avoid it? . . . 3 What can I do to make sure I don’t swindle someone else out of a right to live? These are simple questions. There are sensible answers. Putting the answers to work is the only way to diminish the disgrace. . . . Farley Speedway Funeral Home, 2950 North High School Road.
