7101 Carlson Ave., and their granddaughter, Karen Lee Mayo, have just returned from a visit to Expo’ in Montreal, Canada. Stopovers at Hyde Park, visiting the Roosevelt home, museum and grave site of Pres. Roosevelt, a tour through the Vanderbilt mansion and the Military Academy at West Point, an all-day cruise on beautiful Lake George as well as a visit to Lake Placid, all furnished rest and diversion enroute. The highlight of the Montreal trip was a conducted tour of the fabulous French speaking city. We felt we were in Paris. A few

days at Niagara Falls was a fitting climax to an interesting, educational and entertaining vacation. Charles Jordan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard C. Jordan, 1658 Christopher Lane, was among listed on the Dean’s List of honor students for the spring term at Manchester College in North Manchester, Ind. The Dean’s List of honor students includes those students completing a term of 14 or more credit hours whose grades for the term place them in approximately the upper 10 per cent of their respective classes. The Robert Keating family, 1614 Christopher Lane, recently visited the American Museum of Atomic Energy (Oak Ridge Hall of Science), Oak Ridge, Tenn., which features demonstrations and displays on peaceful uses of the atom. Especially trained lec-ture-demonstrators show how the power of the atom is utilized in medicine, industry and agriculture.

Britt, sqijtwit basketball coaches at Washington and Bea Davis high schools, respectively, are directors of the basketball camp, held to emphasize fundamentals of the game. The boys win participate in drills, games and tree throw shooting. Swimming times are also planned in the five-day schedule. These camps win be held July 24-28, and perhaps July 31-Aug 4 at sl7 cost to non-YMCA members and sl2 to Y members. Evan Fine has coached 10 years at Ben Davis High School, and his 1965 team won both the Indianapolis sectional and Marion County championship. Coach Jerry Oliver and his Washington Continetals won the Indiana state championship in 1965. His teams were the first to win three consecutive city championships. Speedway’s Morris Pollard has coached four teams to sectional championships. George Theofanis coaches at Shortridge, and his 1967 team won their regional. Shrine Pre-Game Parade Twenty-five uniformed units from the five Shrine Temples of Indiana will participate in the pre-game parade at the Indiana Shrine Bowl All-Star football game at Victory Field, Saturday night, August 12th. In addition there will be a 15 minute pageant, “Shrine-O-Ra-ma” with a cast of 400, to be staged between halves. One of the features of the pageant will be 12 year old Donna Marie Lane of Johnson City, Tennessee. Miss Lane has performed at Shrine Bowl games all over the country. C. H. all-star playas. Both camps will July 31st Dick Young, head football coach at Anderson College will direct the North team. Young will be assisted by Ron Van Dam of Taylor University and Ed. Dwyer of Indiana Central College. The South team’s head coach is Red Faught of Franklin College. Faught’s assistants are Dick Martin of Rose Poly and Ray Webster of Franklin. On Saturday, August 6th., midway in their preparation for the game, all the players of both teams will visit the crippled children at the Shrine Hospital in Chicago. Mail orders for tickets to the game are being filled now. Prices of admission are $3.50 and $5.00 and the tickets are available at the Murat Temple office in Indianapolis.

These figures were relayed to the Hoosia Motor Club by the Federal Highway Administration. Of the total, automobiles accounted fa 2,069,685, the remainda being trucks and'buses. Also 63,642 motorcycles woe registered. More than 94.1 million motor vehicles were registered in the United States last yea, an increase of 4.1 per cent ova 1965. California led the way with 10.3 million; New York was next and Texas, third. Alaska had the least, 108,000. Indiana was tenth.

RETIREMENT?ARADE Brigadier General LB. Makey, Commanding General, Finance Center, U.S. Army, whose retirement is effective the end of this month, will be honored at a ceremonial retreat parade at Fort Benjamin Harrison on Friday afternoon, July 28. Military personnel from all units on post will form on the parade ground at the sounding of “Adjutant’s Call” at 4:40 pan. Music will be played by the 74th Army Band, stationed at Fort Benjamin Harrison. The parade will end with troops marching in review past the reviewing stand. On the stand alongside General Makey will be his next superior in the chain of command, Major General William C. Haneke, Chief of Finance and Accounting, Office of the Comptroller of the Army, Washington, D. C. The paade will be attended by many military personnel and civilian employees of the Finance Center and other post activities.. It is open to the public.

Tuesday, Alcoholic Anonymous is scheduled to hold its regula meeting at 8:30 p.m. The Education Committee will meet at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday there will be a Lutheran Human Relations meeting in the You Building at 7:30 p.m.

Tomorrow will include much that is repetitious but there will be the element of surprise. Sometimes the newness can represent difficulty and stress and pressure. How then can we meet tomorrow and the other “tomorrows” which will come to us with confidence and serenity? This is a subject that must be of real interest and concern fa many. We invite you to share our thinking and our worship this coming Sunday. We are in the middle of the vacation season and we would convey our best wishes to those who are moving away to find rest and relaxation and welcome back those who are returning. During this time our church school facilities continue and there are classes for all age groups and nursery facilities provided. The Sewing Group for the Little Red Dooor will not meet during the month of August. There is an ample supply of items at the Little Red Door that it is NOT necessary for the group to meet and sew the comfortpads. Bible Study will meet in the Bethany Room on Monday, July 31, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. All ladies of the church and community are invited to attend this study. Fall Festival sewing will continue on Wednesday at the Dotlich Fam. All ladies are welcome to come out and help; there are jobs for all. If you ned transportation, call the church office. Nancy is a nun in the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity, at Kansas City, Missouri. While home, Nancy hopes to see all her old friends and her relatives. There is to be no special open house. St. Christopher’s Swimming team missed the Ist place overall to Immaculate Heart of Mary by only three points at the Broad Ripple Pool last week. They had two of the five double winners. Debbie Sunier, Girls’ Novice 13 and Over 50-meter Butterfly and Girls’ Novice 15 and Over 50-meter Freestyle. Georgina Herrick, Girls’ Open 100-meter Butterfly (new record) and Girl’s Open 100meter Freesytle (n6w record). Other winners in the different events were Neal McConochie, Sandy Sunier, Carol Wining, Janet O’Neal, Ken Herrick, and Mark Renie. At 6:15 on Monday morning, Father Kessler said the Mass for the living and deceased members of the parish. The 8 o’clock Mass was said for Warner Mullen at the request of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Fisher. On Tuesday morning, the early Mass was for the Intercession of Karen Sue Hall. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Stevens requested the Mass. Father Lindemann said the 8 o’clock Mass for Henry Rosner at the request of Mr. and Mrs. William D. Strange. The Mass at 6:15 on Wednesday morning was for Al Messino at the request of Mr. and Mrs. William Szatkonski. The 8 o’clock Mass was for Eileen Harrold. Mr. and Mrs. Al Brown requested the Mass. Elizabeth Hollinden asked that the early Mass this morning remember Edward Hollinden. The 8 o’clock Mass was said for the success of the Festival at the request of the Stanley Swisher family. Tomorrow morning Lee Ray and Steve Hollinden have asked that the 6:15 Mass be said for Charles Wehrle. The Mass at 8 o’clock will be for Frances Wiley. The early Mass on Saturday morning will be said for a special intention at the request of the Robert Mathis’ family.
