SCHOOL NEWS Tuesday, July 25, is the Speedway 4-H local exhibit in Room 10 at the junior high school. Each 4-H member is required to participate in the local exhibit in order to complete the 4H project for the summer of 1967. All exhibits must be properly labeled and should be brought to the school between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 25. Exhibits may be viewed and picked up between 2:00 and 3:00 p.m. that same day. All exhibits must be claimed no later than 3::00 p.m. More detailed information is available from the 4-H instructor, Mrs. Hinchman.

Why? Why, why, WHY did this have to happen to me? When misfortune, disaster or tragedy occurs, the question is difficult to try to answer. Even if there is a known answer, and most of the time there is none, it is an unacceptable answer. If one is presumptious enough to try to answer; if one resorts to the retort of courage being needed, one knows how futile it can be. Yet, when bewilderment and grief exist, a mortal human being can help. In one such instance, there was an unforgettable scene which will always be remembered. A close friend of a grief stricken family stopped in, unaware that tragedy had struck. Shocked at the bomb shell news, he stumbled around for words. Then in impromptu and certainly in unrehearsed manner, he replied, “I can’t tell you why. No one can. I’m not an overly religious man as you know, but I think it will help all of us if we pray.” The family agreed. It was a beautiful prayer. And it helped. It always can. . . .
