CHRISTOPHER'S CATHOLIC CHURCH (Continued from Page 1) Father Lindemann offered the 8 o’clock Mass this morning for the graduating class. Mass was followed by a breakfast, to which the parents were invited, in the school dining room. The class enjoyed a picnic at Longacre on Tuesday, and they were in retreat Monday which was given by Fathers Richart and Kessler. The lower grades at St. Christopher had classes all day Monday and Tuesday, half-days on Wednesday and today. Tomorrow they go back for the report cards to 9:00 a.m. There was an error in the Calendar column in The Criterion last Friday. There was no St. Christopher Social. These Socials have been discontinued until early Fall. Installation of the newly elected officers of the Holy Name Society will take place in the Church immediately after the 8 o’clock Mass Sunday, June 11th. Members of the Society will receive corporate Holy Communion at the Mass. A breakfast-meeting will be held afterwards in the school dining room. The newly elected officers are: Dick Phillips, president; Ed Pendergast, vice-president; Gene Villinski, secretary; and, Ray Esaman, treasurer. Father Kessler, new assistant pastor, will present himself to the Society at the meeting. Your prayers are requested for the repose of the soul of Sister Julia, a much-loved nun who taught at St. Christopher school in the past. She died May 24th at the Margaret Mary Hospital in Batesville. She had been semi-retired at the Franciscan Motherhouse in Oldenburg. We were happy to learn that all the Sisters will be returning next Fall, all except of course Sister Georgianna who will be serving the Missions. However, a teaching Sister will replace her and a sixth Sister is to be added as part cook and perhaps library work. Sister Susan, superior at St. Christopher school, will continue work on her history master at the John Carroll University in Cleveland this summer. Sister Rosaire will be working on an education master at Clark University in lowa, Sister Mary Martha will attend classes at Marian College, and Sister Jolyn will be at Oldenburg. We were advised Monday that Father Richart has received his rank, that of Captain, and is to report to Dayton Air Force Base this week to be measured for his uniforms and receive his instructions. He is to report June 22nd to Seattle for active duty. Father Kessler said the 6:15 Mass Monday morning for Frances Wiley at the request of her cousin, Mrs. Catherine Quinn. Our Sisters asked that the 8 o’clock Mass be said for Sister Julia. The Masses on Tuesday were said for the speedy recovery of members of the Hall family ... the 6:15 for Gloria Hall at the request of her own brothers and sisters and the 8 o’clock for Valeria Hall at the request of the Renie, Pate, and Goddard children. Friends of Eileen Murphy asked that the early Mass on Wednesday be said for Eileen. The Peterslim and McGuinnes families asked that the later Mass be said for Henry Rosner. The 6:15 Mass this morning was said for Joseph Beberdick at the request of the Frank Buehner family. The 8 o’clock Mass was for the eighth grade graduates. The Mass at 6:15 tomororw morning will be said for Wilbur Riedy. The 8 o’clock Mass will be said for Tom Maloney at the request of the O. A. Bender family. On Saturday morning the 6:15 Mass will remember Stella Ward. Betty Zabel has requested the Mass. A Nuptial Hgih Mass will be sung at 11:30 for the wedding of Georgianna Flesch and Fred Leski. Father Kessler has asked that CYO monthly Paper Sales be continued. The next Sale is scheduled for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, July 7 - 8 - and 9. St. Christopher Annual Festival, with “Tops in Food”, is July 27, 28, and 29. Pray your Rosary daily for peace in the world. Nora Bray
