By DONALD T. BILLUPS At one time or another, every one must face a moment of truth. It is a normal pattern of living. At times, the uncloaked truth is hard to take when it reveals bad luck or disaster. At that moment, we can close the door and try to hide from the despairing truth. Or, we can open the door and courageously face reality. When we face reality, we must face the fact that, self pity does not and can not create pride and who among us can deny a desire to be proud? A moment of truth can be like a fading candle light that leaves us dreary behind a closed door. Or, it can be a beacon of light that shines our path as we open the door to face the future. When compelled to face a moment of truth, we can gain help from examples of others who showed us how it is possible to triumph over tragedy. In next week’s column, we will mention people by name and show why the world owes them a debt of gratitude for showing us how we too can face our own moment of truth. Watch for the column. It will be interesting. . . . Farley Speedway Funeral Hmm, MM North High School Road. Phono Ml-1193.
