A WORD TO THE LOVELY LADY... One of the constant changes in “Face Fashion” is the shade, shape, and contour of the lips. So many of us make disasterous mistakes in the application of lip pomades! But, first, let us consider the texture of the lips. Dry, chapped lips are only emphazised when a non-gloss lipstick is applied. Thus, care to obtain smooth, soft lips is a necessity.

Very few women have a perfectly shaped mouth, &, are afraid to do any thing about this problem. What I mean is if the upper lip is a great deal larger than the lower, a little fuller outline on the lower lip would improve the over all appearance of the entire face. But, the greatest mistakes are made on a small upper lip. The woman aware of this and trying to produce the effect of a larger upper lip, very often, broadens the upper lip in the wrong place! All of us were born with a “cupid’s bow”, and this is the same outline to be used when more fullness is desired on the upper lip. A pronounced “cupid’s bow” is a sign of youth, as we gain in years, this area becomes less and less obvious, therefore, the proper facial manipulations can preserve this youthful lipline. In order to do any of the above corrections properly, one must acquire the use of a lip-stick-brush. How well do I know the difficulty of doing so in the beginning! My upper lip, needing more fullness, ended up meeting my nose during the first few tries! Finally, mastering the little brush, I can accomplish the proper lines in a matter of seconds, plus, I save on the purchases of lipstick. One can use every bit in the
