CHIDREN'S MUSEUM “Return to the Southwest” will be the program at the Children’s Museum this Saturday morning (May 13) when Robert Huncilman gives a narrated slide show on another of his visits to that area. Huncilman will take his listeners by airplane into Grand Canyon, to a Navajo fair with a parade and rodeo in Shiprock, New Mexico, to meet an old Hopi woman named Polyngasi Qoyawama, and to Mogollon Rim to see the largest stand of ponderosa pine in the world. Huncilman’s program will be directed to youngsters eight years and over, while at the same time younger children will be invited to make a paper flower garden in the museum craft room. Both programs are free and begin at 11 o’clock. On the same day another of the Children’s Museum series of nature hikes through city parks will be given at Ellenberger. Hikers are asked to meet at the north entrance at 9:15. The guide will point out trees, birds, spring wild flowers and insects. Parents are asked to meet children promptly at the conclusion of the hike at 10:30 so they will be escorted at all times. In case of rain in the park area at 8:30 the hike will be canceled.
