Grandmothers Club The Grossroads of America Grandmother Club No. 597 will sponsor a bus trip to New Harmony, the Raintree County and Southern, Indiana. Members and friends will meet at the Greyhound Bus Terminal Sunday, June 11 at 7:00 A.M. Bell Tours will conduct the trip. Mrs. Norman Skaggs and Mrs. Nellie Cochran are co-chairmen. Speedway LaLeche League " The Speedway LaLeche League meets Tuesday, May 16th at the home of Mrs. Marylou Stresine, 6142 Hickorywood Drive, Speedway. The topic will be “Nutrition and Weaning”. Speedway varsity baseball team won their game with Center Grove by a 3 - 1 score, and the reserve team won from Decatur Central 9 - 8 in 9 innings of play. In the Marion County Track Meet held last week, Speedway finished seventh among the twelve schools competing. Brownsburg won the Mid-State Track Meet held recently by finishing with 60 points. Greenwood placed second with 58, and Speedway placed third with 53. In two tennis matches the past week Speedway scored 4, Beech Grove 3, and North Central 4, Speedway 3. In golf competition Speedway scored 8% to win from Danville with 3%. Junior High Track scores for events the past week include: Speedway 44, Pike 39%, Beech Grove 31%; and Fulton Bth grade 60, Spedway 34; Speedway 7th grade 73, Fulton 21.
LIBRARY NOTES: The Senior High School Library is open four late afternoons each week for the convenience of students and adults of Speedway. Hours are from 4:00 to 6:30 Monday through Thursday.
