The conference, which has the theme, “Supply to Your Faith Endurance”, is sponsored by the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of Brooklyn, New York, and arranged by local workers as well as traveling representatives from the Society's headquarters. ‘The Society’s purpose is the growth of men, women and children to Christian maturity through a program of accurate instruction in Bible principles and ministerial training,” said Strong. “Just as with agricultural crops, careful feeding, watering and cultivation of the budding Christian personality produces a healthy minister, able to stand up to the heat of modern-day living wtihout withering. The world needs more mature Christians,” Strong said. Arrangements are now being completed for the week-end program by district supervisor Frank Spacil, of the Brooklyn headquarters, and Louis Ryle-

Crass With Confidence; “Cross Only at Corners” is subject of Hoosier Motor Club's traffic safety education program in elementary and junior high schools this month.
Thursday, March 23, 1967
Colorful posters depicting this safe-walking rule have been sent to all schools in the area. A study of accident causes shows that 41 per cent of all pedestrians killed or injured in traffic accidents probably would not have been involved in these accidents if they had heeded the time-tested rule, says the American Automobile Association. “We urge parents to encourage their children to walk the few extra steps to the comer or pedestrian crosswalk to cross streets,” said James W. Parks, Hoosier Motor Club secretarymanager. “Point out to them that they will more likely be seen by motorists at comers than at any other location. Comers are designed for maximum visibility. Also, to their advantage is the fact that motorists expect pedestrians at comers.” Mr. Parks quoted figures that indicated adult pedestrians are more quilty of breaking this safewalking rule than are children. He reminded parents of the fact that many children emulate the actions of their elders and said “Walking to the comer to cross streets yourselves will have a most favorable influence in reducing the traffic accident involvement of school-child pedestrians and indeed on the whole pedestrian accident picture.”
