This state-wide placement will rise to third next fall since the leading schools will lose degrees through graduations. Sophomores 24, Juniors 23 (consolation game) Seniors 33, Freshmen 31 (Championship game) The varsity basketball team and their coach delivered a floral piece from Lebanon High School congratulating the Sparkplugs on their recent sectional championship and wishing them luck in the regional. Speedway won its first regional game by deafeating Delphi 62-50 last Saturday afternoon in the Frankfort gym. The Sparkplugs, playing in a regional championship game for the first time, lost a hard-fought contest to Bainbridge by a score of 79-71.

Westside Methodist Church in Expansion Program The Chapel Hill Methodist Church, 963 North Girls School Road, on the Westside of Indianapolis, voted in Quarterly Conference Sunday to build sixteen additional Church School rooms. The Architect, contracted for the Educational Building, is Mr. Allden Meranda. The rapidly growing West-side Congregation has completed a three year Building Fund Campaign, under the Direction of Mr. William Elliott, in which $150,000 was committed for Building and General Operational Expenses. The congregation plans to break ground for the New Educational unit on Palm Sunday, March 19. Members of the Church’s Building Committee are Mr. Richard Crum, Chairman, Mr. William Elliott, Mr. Harvey Atkins, Mr. Jarrell Ferguson, Dr Forrest Denny, Mr. William Klenk, Mr. Robert Manuell, Mrs. Weldon Hackett, Mr. Jerry Hankins, Mr. Robert Lisby, Mrs. Joe Haycraft, Mr. Jack Stalzle, and the pastor, Charles E. The early Mass on Tuesday morning was said for the souls in Purgatory, according to the request of Dorothy Unnewehr. Father Lindemann said the 8 o’dock Mass for Delia Collins at the request of the Ken Herrick family. Friends of John J. Reilly asked that the 6:15 Mass on Wednesday be said for him The 8 o’dock Mass was said for the special intention of Mr. and Mrs. John Taylor, Jr. This morning the early Mass remembered Joseph Beberdick at the request of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Kelley. The Ante family asked that the 8 o’clock Mass be said for John Burkhard. At 6:15 tomorrow the Mass will be for Eileen Harrold at the request of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Fox. The Bth grade girls of St. Christopher school asked that the 8 o’dock Mass be said for Eileen Murphy. Anthony Gorjanc will be remembered in the 6:15 Mass on Saturday morning at the request of Ludwich and Beranette Stanich. At the 11:30 Mass, Henry Rosner will be remembered at the request of Mrs. Emma Jean Rosner. A panel discussion on Vocations, sponsored by the Men’s Club of St. Simon, will be held Sunday, March 12th, at 2:00 pm. The panel will consist of priests and sisters, as well as laymen, of the Archdiocese. Ladies of Charity will offer Shamrocks for sale after all the Masses next Sunday, March 12th.
