BLOOD SHORTAGE The urgency of a nationwide blood shortage was stressed yesterday at the Annual Meeting of the Community Blood Bank of Marion County held at the Marott Hotel. John R. Keilholz, executive director of the local Blood Bank, reported that he has received calls from as far away as New York requested blood shipments. The cities of Miami, Philadelphia, Chicago, Memphis and Milwaukee are having similar problems. “Their blood supply situation is probably a prelude to a coming critical blood need across the United States”, he reported. “In fact it is already serious and is getting worse by the month.” On the subject of the local blood banking, Keilholz said an adequate supply of blood now exists in Central Indiana, but increasing demands may tax this supply and facilities to the limit. “I don’t know of any bank in the United States today that has the supply of blood for its hospitals that the Community Blood Bank has in Indianapolis,” he said, “but it is becoming increasingly clear that we must step-up our operations or face the same problems as other large cities.”

Corporation, these new loanmoney plans make it possible for Falender to continue offering quality homes at acceptable prices. Instead of adopting the widespread practice of reducing the amount of home being given per dollar in order to offset increased loan costs, Falender can thus retain custom design home value features without price increases. In fact, price reductions have been announced on certain models.
These newly-available FHA and VA loans at 6% may be obtained on any of Falender’s 57 custom designs or 20 floorplans, including the three all-new LCMs now being shown in Grand Openings. The Grand Opening of the LCM-I is being held at Northbrook, 3100 North Ditch Road; Tempo, East 16th and Franklin Road; and at Meadowood, 3000 North High School Road. Grand Openings of the LCM-II and HI are in process at Tempo and Mea-
dowood. All three of the new LCMs are available in any of four Falender communities, including Parkview inside the town of Speedway. Some of the outstanding features of Falender’s new-idea LCM homes are imaginative low-traffic floorpans, interesting touches of wrought iron decor, large brick fireplaces, and recessed covered porches. The LCM-I, a one-story threebedroom, includes two ceramic tiled baths. The living room is
separated from the double-width specially-tiled entry foyer and guest closet by wrought iron dividers. The IX. H, also a one-story home, has four bedrooms and two ceramic tlied baths. The master bedroom has a dressing room with vanity and fully-mirrored closet doors. Wrought iron dividers separate the specially-tiled entry foyer and guest closet from the 15 foot living room. The family room has paneling and a brunch bar pass-through to kitchen.
The two-story LCM-IH has 4 bedrooms and three ceramic tiled baths. One bedroom and bath are conviently located on the first floor. The master bedroom has private bath with an adjacent dressing room. Wrought iron not only separates the formal dining room from the specially-tiled double-width foyer, but is also used on the starway opening into the family room. A new-idea << Cook and Chef Hospitality Center” is located between the family room and the ultra modem kitchen. Models of the three new LCMs as well as other Falender homes in all Communities are open 12 to 7 Sunday through Friday and 10 to 6 Saturday. In addition to Falender’s special FHA and VA loan-money arrangement, buyers may also take advantage of a trade-in plan. This exclusive plan assures the Falender home buyer of full current market value for his present home as set by three independent apparfeers.
