HOSPITAL CAMPAIGN Employees of The Indianapolis Power & Light Company today pledged $131,635 to The United Hospital Campaign, according to Thomas M. Cisco, IPALCO drive chairman and assistant for employee relations for the company. This averages a total of $76.13 per employee for the 1,729 persons who work at the utility organization, Cisco said. Ottis T. Fitzwater, president of IPALCO and chairman of the board, doubling in brass as general campaign chairman of The United Hospital Campaign, expressed his gratitude to his coworkers. “This wonderful addition to the $15.5 million drive for five Indianapolis voluntary hospitals is a major contribution toward making adequate health facilities here a reality,” Fitzwater declared. “I am obviously most proud of the IPALCO family for its generous support to this fund campaign so close to my own heart,” he declared. Cisco echoed Fitzwater’s praise: “While support of this sort is exactly what I would expect from our own people, it is gratifying to see this visible demonstration of IP ALGO employees’ involvement with their own community,” he said. The contribution will aid in construction projects for the five non-profit hospitals. They are Community, Methodist, St. Francis, St. Vincent’s, and University Heights. Participation in a brief presentation ceremony in front of IPALCO’s Electric Building were Fitzwater, Cisco, Miss Carol E. Norholt, James L. Zollner, and Billy (cq) L. Dreher, all of the utility company.
