TO BE ORDAINED Ek ■’ WET > PETER RONALD MARTICH
Many years ago a blondheaded boy served Mass for Father Lindemann when St. Christopher Church was just a little chapel, then a part of the rectory. At that time, that boy made up his mind that he was going to study to be a parish priest like Father Lindemann, God willing. And from that time until now, he has always held Father Lindemann, to use his words, “Father Lindemann has always been God to me. He will always be ‘silver and gold’.” On Sunday, May 1, that boy, now grown to a fine, good-looking 1 young man of 26, will realize his dream, his ambition, his desire, or whatever term you choose to use, come true. On that day at 4 o’clock in the afternoon, Peter Ronald Martich, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter G. Martich, 1664 Presto Ave., Speedway, will be ordained into the Holy Catholic Priesthood at St. Meinrad. Ind.
Father Martich will say his Solemn Mass of Thanksgiving on Sunday, May 8, 1966 at 1 o’clock in the Church of St. Christopher. Following the Mass, a dinner, prepared by some of the good ladies and men of the parish, will be served in the St. Christopher school dining room by girls of the parish to invited relatives and friends. The reception and priestly blessing will be Sunday evening, May 8, from 7 to 9 p.m., at the Westside K. of C. Hall, 220 N. Country Club Road. The Rev. Peter Martich went directly from St. Christopher grade school to St. Meinrad from where he graduated in 1962 with a B.S. degree. He then attended Catholic University in Washington, D.C. for four year studying theology. He has not received his assignment from His Excellency the Archbishop, but no matter where he goes, the prayers of all the people of St. Christopher will follow Father Pete.
