with packages of cookies will start ringing door bells Thursday afternoon, March 3, in the 7% county area of the Hoosier Capital Girl Scout Council The annual'Girl Scout Cookie Sales will begin at 3 pm. Thursday and continue through Saturday, March 12. The Scouts will be selling five varities of cookies at 50 cents per package. The purpose of the sale—the only council-wide money raising event—is to provide funds for the Scout camp program. No United Fund monies are used for the camp program or for buildnig and maintaining camp properties. The program is self-supported through the sale of cookies and camp fees. During 1965 more than 13,000 Scouts participated in camping on council-owned or operated property. The council owns the 141 acre Camp Dellwood, west of Indianapolis, the 450 acre Gallahue Valley Camp in Brown County and Hawthorne Trials Camp in Boone County. In addition, 13 day camp sites were in operation during the summer throughout the council area.
