Lacy Speedway High School auditorium, on Saturday, February 19. The film will be narrated in person by Sasha Siemel, pho produced this travelogue.
Sasha Siemel has been called the “tiger man.” This is a title of honor given to him by the Indians of Brazil. He is a professional hunter who tracks down the giant tiger of Matogrosso using only a handmade spear. After Sasha Siemel became I world-famous as the central figure in Julian Duguid’s books, “Green Hell” and "Tiger Man,” he has thrilled thousands of travelogue goers with his almost incredible stories and films. He has just returned from another hunting trip into the jungles of Brazil —this time as a guide and professional hunter for American sportsmen. Sasha Siemel has also been engaged in capturing the animals of the South American jungles for the zoos of the world. “Zoos Without Bars” takes us from Sasha Siemel’s farm in Pennsylvania to South American jungles and then on a tour of the major zoos of the world. In Pennyslvania we will find deer amidst verdent forest. Sasha has many pets for his children including monkeys, turtles, rabbits, dogs, peacocks, and even a pet tiger. In returning to Brazil we will stop in Rio and also in the new capital—Brasilia. Then to the Matogrosso and the fantastic Iguassu waterfalls. Our tour of the zoos of the world which Sasha has supplied will take us first to Germany and the Hagenbeck Zoo near Hamburg. While in Germany we will enjoy the scenic vistas along the way. Then to the zoos at Munchen; Zurich, Switzer-, land; Philadedphia, Chicago, Detroit and New York City. This is another fascinating story by a daring adventurer that you will enjoy.
