Naval Reserve Officers School The Naval Reserve Officers School 9-13 has commenced its fall semester and is open to all Naval Officers, according to CDR. Virgil C. Edwards, 6045 Schoolwood Drive, the commanding officer. Clases are held at the Naval Armory located at 30th Street and White River on Thursday evenings and will continue for the next 40 weeks. The executive officer, CDR. George W. H. Cook, 6040 N. Emerson Ave., announced classes and instructors as follows: Oceanography—CDß. J. Clark Spooner, 112 E. 44th Street. Counterinsurgency LODR. Dr. Moody held Baptist pastorates in Texas, Indiana, and Kentucky before accepting his present teaching position. The Moodys have three daughters and a son.

Mr. Rubick has taught adult church school classes in Kansas City, while a member of the Independence Boulevard Christian Church, and was also an officer of the Christian Church Commission and the Council of Churches. He served as commissioner of the Park Board, trustee o the Kansas City Museum, co-founder of the Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast, Friends of the Zoo, and other civic organizations such as Boy Scouts of America, YMCA, and Lions International. He received a B.A. degree from Park College in Parkville, Mo., and an LLB. degree from the University of Missouri. He served in the Philippines and Japan while in the armed services, and now holds the rank of lieutenant colonel in the United States Army Reserve Corps. At the present time Mr. Rubick is an elder in the Third Christian Church of Indianapolis, is serving on commissions and* committees of agencies within the International Convention of Christian Churches as well as the United Christian Missionary Society. TROOP 66 (Continued from Page 1) both the boys and their leaders. Among the awards were the following: 1 Eagle Scout (an award for 5 merit badges over the 21 required for Eagle Scout) 9 Life Scouts 8 Star Scouts 12 First Class Scouts 4 Second Class Scouts Three new boys were ceremoniously received into the Troop and took their places in various patrols. In addition to the above ranks, a total of 115 merit badges were awarded in 30 various categories. Further, numerous camping awards were given in addition to 4 firecrafter ranks. Scoutmaster Dick Schilling has accepted the post of Camping Commisioner for the West District. Mr. Forest McGilliard will serve as the Troops new Scout Leader. Other leaders are Ted Frucht and Doug Thompson, both assistant Scoutmasters. New Troop committee Chairman is Bill Holmes. The Troop had its first of a series of camp outs last Saturday, Sept. 18. At least one camp out is planned each month and is to be culminated with a week’s stay in Wisconsin next August. Indiana University Medical Records Program to begin classes this fall at the LU. Medical Center, according to Miss Gertrude Gunn, director of the course. Choosing a career vital to the hospital services today because it deals with the maintenance of case histories of patients. Mrs. Hefner and her classmates have completed three years of preliminary college study either on the I.U. Bloomington campus or another qualified university. Mrs. Hefner is a graduate of Central High School and attended Manchester College.

Clarke, Chairman of the Committee to publish the local telephone directory for Speedway, Chapel Hill and Farley Additions announces his committee is starting to lay plans for this project at this time. All business places will be contacted soon by a committee member for the soliciting of ads for the directory. If you are not contacted and wish to purchase an ad please get in touch with Mr. Clarke, Manager of the Speedway Branch of the American Fletcher National Bank. The last publication of the directory was made in 1964. At that time 6,000 copies were printed and 99% of them have been distributed. This is a real service to the community provided by the Speedway Lions Club at no cost to the residents. Nineteen new members were listed Thursday after tryouts for the majorette corps to perform wth Purdue University’s “AllAmerican” Marching Band this fall. Prof. Al G. Wright, band director, said a new Golden Girl, the star twirling position, will be named next week for an initial performance at the Notre DamePurdue football game Sept 25. Last year’s Golden Girl, June Ciampa, was graduated last June. Newly named to the majorette corps from Speedway was Helen Bledsoe, 222 S. Allison.
