CROSSROADS PROGRAMS The fall semesters for two programs for handicapped children will begin on Monday, September 13, as Crossroads Rehabilitation Center, 3242 Sutherland Avenue. The Model Nursery for physically handicapped youngsters, aged three through six, will be in session Monday through Friday, 9:00 until 11:30 a.m. throughout the school year. A program of school readiness and supervised creative activities will be provided for the children by Mrs. Jimmie Sullivan, Nursery Supervisor. She will be assisted daily by three trained volunteers from the Crossroads Guild. The Development Program for Mentally Retarted pre-school aged children will be held Monday through Friday, 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. throughout the school year. Educable five and six year old mentally retarted or brain damaged children are eligible to attend. The purpose of the development program is to prepare children who have been unable to gain admitance to regular kindergarten first grade classes or special education classes because of a low achievement level. The children are taught basic motor perceptual skills and are given an academic readiness program. The project is being conducted through the cooperation of the

Tuesday, September 7th, the Woman’s Society of Christian Service will meet at the Church at 7:30 p.m. in the Chapel. The program will be centered around the 25th Anniversary of the Woman’s Society, with special recognition being given to the charter members of the W.S.C.S. All women are cordially invited. Tuesday, September 7th, the Trustees will meet at the Church at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, September Bth, from 10:00 to 2:30 p.m., a Bazaar Workshop and pitch-in salad luncheon will be held.
