ST. CHRISTOPHER'S CATHOLIC CHURCH (Continued from Page 1) St. Christopher Slo-Pitch Soft Ball team defeated Christ the King 13 to 5 and St Monica 11 to 6 last Sunday afternoon at Riverside diamonds. St. Christopher team has only 1 loss. Norm Mills is coach. Congratulations team! On Monday morning at 8 o’clock the Mass was said for Clara Geyler at the request of Mrs. Elsie Sauer and Jenny Lesman. The Mass on Tuesday morning was for Dr. Edw. V. Barine, M.D. Andy and Carrie Onofrey requested the Mass. Herschel Snider was remembered in the Mass on Wednesday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Repine asked that the Mass be said. The Mass this morning was for George Sauer at the request of Paul A. Noe. Al and Jo Armin have asked that the Mass tomorrow morning be said for Joseph Armin. On Saturday morning the Mass will be said acccording to the intentions of Jerry Rosner and Barbara Simon. Assumption Church, 1117 S. Blaine Avenue, is holding their Annual Fish Fry Festival tomorrow and Saturday—-serving from 4:00 p.m. to 0:00 p.m. Two ladies’ sweaters were found in St. Christopher school building after the Festival. Also, an ivory colored change purse was found. The owners may claim the articles at the rectory. Mrs. Ledbetter, 1950 Winton Avenue, lost a beige sweater with elbow length sleeves. It has a sentimental value. If anyone found it, or knows where it is, please return same to the rectory. ’ Father Richart has returned from a very enjoyable Florida vacation. Father John Rocap, who was recently ordained in Rome, said Sunday Masses on August Bth for Father Richart. We are happy to have some of our good nuns back with us. The 47th Annual Laymen’s Retreat on the Notre Dame campus will be held this weekend, August 19-22. The retreat, which is open to men and teenage boys, will begin with supper on Thursday (tonight) and end with communion breakfast on Sunday morning, August 22. We noted recently with interest that Our Sunday Visitor, described as America’s biggest Catholic weekly newspaper, published at Huntington, Indiana, will soon have a new look, changing from newspaper to magazine format. Pray your Rosary daily for peace in the world.
Indianapolis Hiking Club The Indianapolis Hiking Club will hike in Brown County State Park on Sunday, August 22. The group will leave from the east side of the Statehouse at 10:00
