NEW HOURS AT ZOO ANNOUNCED The Indianapolis Zoo wiU stay open until 7 pm. on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through the Labor Day weekend, director Dan Watson announced today. Previously, the Zoo closing hour was 5 pan. except Sundays and holidays when it was open until 7 pan. “We hope the longer hours on Friay and Saturday evenings will give more peqple an opportunity to visit the Zoo,” Watson said. Free rides on the Zoo train are in effect through August 20, Monday through Saturday with the clipout newspaper coupon, according to Watson. The Zoo is located in George Washington Park, 3120 East 30th Street.

Andy Devine to Open "On Borrowed Time" Andy Devine, veteran of more than 300 motion pictures and numerous radio and TV shows, wiU open Hoosier playwright, Paul Osborn’s play, “On Borrowed Time,” at the Avondale Playhouse Tuesday, August 15. “On Borrowed Time,” which is based on the novel by Lawrence Edward Watkin and was first produced in 1937-38, concerns a grandfather’s efforts to fight off Death until certain earthly tasks have been completed mainly finding a good home for his grandson. Devine will play the role of Gramps, which was originated on Broadway by Dudley Digges, and portrayed on the motion picture screen in 1939 by Lionel Barrymore. Performances will be presented nightly Tuesday through Sunday at 8:30 p.m., with the exception of Saturday when two performances will be given at 7 and 10 pan.

Jack Kelly to Star At Avondale In "World of Susie Wong" ‘TBie World of Suzie Wong,” drama by Hoosier playwright Paul Osborn, has been selected by Avondale Productions, Inc. as the closing production of the season, it has been announced by W. Taylor Wilson, president of Avondale Playhouse. The drama, which will star Jack Kelly, win play in Indianapolis the week of August 24 and at the Avondale-on-the-Mall Theatre in Louisvine, the week of August 81. ‘The World of Suzie Wong,** tells the story of a young Hong Kong prostitute corrupted at 18, but who in essence is stiU fine and pure, and of a young Canadian painter who falls in love with Suzie and tries to keep her from her shameful business.
