Krieger will attend a Camp Out at Hoosier National Forest—“ Working on God and Country.” On Sunday, August Ist, a membership Orientation Class will begin. This class, designed for those who desire to unite with the church either by confession of faith in Christ or by transfer of membership, will meet each Sunday for four consecutive weeks during the Church School Hour, 10:00-10:45 a.m. Meeting in the Parlor the class will be conducted by one of the Ministers. Sunday evening, July 25th, St. Christopher CYO will present their first annual Variety-Talent Show at 7:30 p.m. in Chapel Hili grade school auditorium. The public is invited. We have been told that while they’re not professional yet, they are dog-gone good. Bill Bruno, Charles Renie, Mrs. Helen Mills, and Mrs. Bev Bailey are coaching them. This would be a nice way to spend a couple of hours Sunday evening and relax before next week of the Festival. On Monday morning at 8 o’clock, the Mass was for Everett Grabner at the request of Caroline Grabner. Anthony Somrah was remembered in the Mass on Tuesday morning. Mary Somrah requested the Mass. An Anniversary Mass was said on Wednesday morning for William Bohnes at the request of Joe and Jule Dailey. Mr. and Mrs. Otto Moos asked that this morning the Mass be said for George Sauer. Tomorrow morning Robert Shields will be remembered in the Mass at the request of the Holy Name Society. The Mass on Saturday morning will be for Gustav Stieglitz. Mr. and Mrs. John R. Donovan have asked for the Mass. If there is any man or woman in the parish who would like to help make St. Christopher Festival, next week, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, a success, but who has not been asked to help for one

Christian Education office for the Broadway Christian Center children’s summer program: Children’s toys (especially balls, jump ropes and board games), children’s books, old shirts, scrap materials (such as cloth and buttons), clay, fruit juice cans, old coloring books, old newspapers and magazines, old sponges, any art materials (crayons, paints, weaving ’ooms, colored chalk, string or yarn, wire, soap, plastic bags, mixing bowls) rugs or old blankets, or record player. Vacation Church School begins Monday, July 26th and continues through Friday, August Sth. God and His World is the general theme of this year’s curriculum. Hours are 9:00-11:00 am. for the ten sessions. Mrs. Mary Stonebraker is the Director of Vacation Church School. Mrs. Bertha Huffman is the Assistant Director. Three-year-olds who have been designated as “registered” may attend; those three-year-olds who have been designated as “on waiting list** will need to wait for further notification before planning to attend. Classes for boys and girls four year old and on up through the fifth grade are still open for new members in addition to those already registered. Little pre-school boys and girls will be learning of God’s World of Wonder. In the first three grades God the Creator is the topic. Fourth and fifth graders are to study God, Creator and Sustainer. Young Christian Adventures (recent 6th and 7th grade graduates who will be in junior high this fall) have as their special study of God, World Without End. These young people have their own sessions in the evenings, 6:30-8:00 p.m. There will be plenty of opportunities for them to exercise creative abilities have fun, study and worship. These Adventures are still open for new members in addition to the more than twenty who have already registered. The Vacation Church School Open House Night for Families will be Thursday evening, August 5, between the hours of 7:00 and 8:30 p.m. There is no charge to the pupils or parents; Vacation Church School is included in the yearly budget for Christian Education. Offering received will help meet needs of Christian Churches who were victims of the Palm Sunday tornado disaster here in Indiana.
