There will be a business meeting at 6:30. Election of the nominating committee and delegates to toe Grandmother's National Convention in Phoenix, Arizona, will be held. A review of the by-laws will be discussed. President, Mrs. Lou Skaggs will preside. A social hour will be held.
EAGLE CREEK PETITION CAMPAIGN Frank E. McKinley, Chairman of the Greater. Indianapolis Progress Committee, today called for all-out support from Progress Committee members for the Eagle Creek Reservoir petition campaign currently in progress. “Eagle Creek is a symbol of the big thinking that is required if our City is to become one of the truly great communities of this nation,** McKinney said. “With this one single step, Indianapolis can be projected into the national spotlight as a City having one of the most beautiful parks in the entire U.S. At the same time, we will be preparing to meet the recreational and industrial needs for the million persons we will have by 1980.” McKinney, who reported that all 170 members of the Progress Committee have been sent petitions to circulate, said, “The Eagle Creek Reservoir is the first project of our Committee. I am asking for maximum cooperation as an overwhelming demonstration of our Committee’s enthusiasm and determination to do what must be done to help get this City moving ahead. The succeess we have on this project can be a lasting inspiration for us on many tasks we are now beginning to tackle." The Eagle Creek Reservoir and Park Project is located in Pike Township in Northwest Marion County. It contains approximately 4600 acres and is a combination flood control recreation project. Two petitions, one by the Flood Board and one by the Park Board, requesting permission to issue a total of $17,000,000 in bonds, are being circulated.
Ladies of Sahara Grotto to Hold Dinner Dinner and entertainment will be held at the Severin Hotel, Caribbean Room, June 12th, with a social hour preceding at 6 pm.
