H. Hampke, Mrs. A. M. Meyer and Mrs. E. G. The Junior Hi C.Y.F. meeting has been postponed to Sunday, May 16th. A Service of Baptism will be conducted following the close of the 11:00 worship hour. CHOIRS: Wednesday, Angelus choir, 3:15; Chapel choir, 7:00 p.m. Thursday, Chorale choir, 3:15; Chancel choir, 7:35 p.m. The Golden Rule Fellowship will meet Thursday, May 13th, with Mr. and Mrs. Elzie Wymer, 5351 W. 40th St Mrs. McKitrick will lead the Bible discussion on the Book of Acts. Los Amigos will have a pitch-in supper and program on Friday, May 14th, beginning at 6:30 pan. The Missionary Education Institute will be held May 10th and 11th at the Tabernacle Presbyterian Church, 34th and Central. This institute is especially for persons responsible for mission study, and Circle leaders and Circle program chairmen will be attending. We have 31 reservations from our church which is most gratifying and indicates the interest being shown on this subject The rose on our lectern last Sunday announced the birth of James Holden Cox born April 10th to Norma and Jim Cox of Minneapolis, Minnesota (grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Cox). - The Pastor’s Cabinet and the Offical Board will meet a week later this month. The Pastor’s Cabinet will meet Monday, May 17th at 7:30 p.m. and the Official Board will meet Tuesday, May 18th at 7:30 pin.

Speedway vs. Warren Central, 10:00 a.m. In order that plans can be made for kindergarten classes this Sept. Speedway school ofifcials need the names of all children who will be eligible and plan to attend kindergarten this fall. The
entrance date will be different from previous years. AH Marian County Schools, including Speedway, will accept children who will be five years old by October 1. The age for first grade entrance has not been changed for this fall. A child must be six years old by September 9 in order to enroll in the first grade. Beginning in the fall of 1966 the October 1 date will apply both to kindergarten and first grade children. Registration slips for kindergarten children will be sent home with all elementary and high school pupils on Tuesday, May 11. These forms should be completed and returned to one of the elementary schools. Parents who do not receive a slip may call one of the elementary schools after May 11 and report information about a child

who is eligible to enroll. The Speedway High School will conduct a Summer Science Program for students in grades seven through eleven during the summer vacation from June 16th through July 30th. Credit will not be given for this work, but participation in the program will make it possible to gain first-hand knowledge and experience in the use of laboratory instruments and procedures. Each session will be about two hours in length and will meet during the mornings from Monday through Friday. While good attendance will be necessary to gain the most from the program, family vacations can be worked into the schedule if arranged in advance. Six Speedway students have been selected to participate in the Indiana University Honors Program in Foreign Languages this summer. Walter Hocker and Barbara Zeph will spend 10 weeks in Mexico; Bruce Beatty, Susan Betsill, Richard Vogel, and Richard Wacker will spend 10 weeks in Germany. At the Speech Banquet held last week, the following special awards were presented: Best Actor, Jim Keating Best Actress, Vicki Wagner; Best Supporting Actress, Cindy Rumple; Best Support Actor, (3 way tie) Russ Sinks, Alex Williams, Steve Lewis; Most Outstanding Speech Student, Jim Keatings Most Improved Speech Student, Lynn Schoenewey; Most Outstanding Underclassmen, Joyce DeWitt and Cidy Rumple; Backstage Award, Joe Pickering.
