BARBER SHOP QUARTET CONTEST James Chessman, president of the Greater Indianapolis chapter of The Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America, Inc., announced today that Indianapolis has been selected as the site of the 1965 International Regional Preliminary quartet contest. The contest, to be held Saturday afternoon, April 24, at Speedway’s Northwest High School auditorium, will include barber shop quartets from the IndianaKentucky area. The winning quartets will represent this area in the International contest in Boston, Mass. A concert, “Let Harmony Reign,” will be presented that Saturday evening at 8:00 p.m. It will include the winning quartets from the afternoon contest and will feature ‘The Louisville Thorobred’s” 1962 International

Baby sitting is provided from 9-11:30 a.m. The Capitol District Luther League Assembly will meet this Sunday afternoon and evening from 2-8 p.m., at St. Andrew’s. Intermediate Luther League will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday following Confirmation Classes and Junior Choir at 6 p.m. Pastor Chell will appear on the 7:30 a.m. television series of “Chapel Door” during this week. The Class tor parents of fifth and sixth graders meet from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in the Youth Building. Speedway Alcoholics Anonymous gathers at 8:30 p.m. that same evening.
