Entries for the parish Baking Contest must be turned in between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Private judging will take place from 2:00 ’till 5:00 p.m. and awards will be announced immediately after the judging. The contest is divided into five divisions .. . cakes, pies, cookies, yeast bread and rolls, and quick breads. Package mixes are not allowed. This contest is held for all boys and girls from grade 1 through grade 12. All the entries will be on Sale Sunday morning after the Masses. On Sunday, October 18th, offerings will be taken up at all the Masses to be given to the Holy Father, Pope Paul, to be used for the Missions. The C.Y.O. will not receive corporate Holy Communion at the 10 o’clock Mass on Sunday, October 18th. Catholic Youth Week which begins on the Feast of Christ the King, October 25th, will be the grand climax to the 25th anniversary celebration of the Archdiocesan C.Y.O. St. Christopher has been chosen by the Junior C.Y.O. Youth Council as one of the two locations

Gene Dean is at St. Vincent’s hospital in Room 333 recovering from a thyroid operation. The High Mass at 10 o’clock on Sunday morning was sung for Father Richart’s grandmother, Anna Marie Schneider, at the request of the Altar Society. Because Monday was free day at St. Christopher school on account of Columbus Day, the High Mass was at 8 o’clock. It was said for the recovery of Ken Stroud at the request of a friend. The Mass on Tuesday morning at 11:15 was for Marie Shipley. Mr. and Mrs. Richard E. Dudley requested the Mass. Francis J. Lepper was remembered in the Mass on Wednesday morning. His widow, Cecilia Leppert, requested the Mass. The Thomas McShane family asked to have the Mass said this morning for Emma Frances O’Neal. An Anniversary Mass will be sung tomorrow morning for Lawrence Kuczenski at the request of the Mary Kuczenski family. The Mass at 8 o’clock on Saturday morning will be for Katherine Manley. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Sorrells requested the Mass.

ST. ANDREWS LUTHERAN CHURCH (Continued from Page 1) Mr. Otto Herrig, a student from Hamma Divinity School, will conduct the services. At the 10:30 service Bibles will be presented to the new fourth grade Sunday Church School pupils. Youth Council meets at 4:30 pan. Sunday afternoon. Confirmation classes and Junior Choir gathr at 6 p.m. Senior Luther Leaguers will meet in the League Lounge, also at 6 pan. Youth Committee meets at 8 pan. Monday evening in the Youth Building. Speedway Alcoholics Anonymous gathers at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday each week in the Youth Building. Weekday Religious Education classes are held on Wednesdays in the Youth Building at 3 pan. Senior Choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 7:45 p.m. Nursery School is held each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9-11 a.m. in the Kindergarten Room. Sunday Church School staff will meet on Thursday, October 22, 8 pan.

PANCAKE FRY The 38 members of the new North Park Chapter, Order of DeMolay, will be flipping flapjacks for a day-long “Pancake Fry,” Saturday, October 17 at North Park Masonic Lodge, 5555 North Michigan Road. Serving will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Proceeds will be used to purchase robes for DeMolay rituals. Members of the chapter advisory council and the chapter’s Mother Circle will help during the affair. will present the program, “Physical Education at Ben Davis.” He will feature members of the staff in giving parents an idea of a new testing program already started at Ben Davis and soon to be initiated for girls in grades 512. A color film, giving a look at Physical Education classes for boys will be shown. Scriptural and musical devotions will be given by teachers, Mr. Charles Carpenter, and Mr. Ray Horton. NOVEMBER IST Indianapolis Hiking Club The Indianapolis Hiking Club will hike on a farm in Johnson County on Sunday, October 18. It will be an interesting hike over hills, through wooded area, along a stream, and along the shoreline of a lake. East side of the State House at 1:00 p.m. is the meeting place and the time.
