The chancel bouquets for next Sunday will be given by Mrs. Dorothy Forbes and Mrs. Joan Abbott in memory of Mrs. Ida Marvel and Mr. Harold Marvel, and in honor of the anniversary of our church. Many of our Senior Hi Young People will be at McCormick’s Creek next Saturday and Sunday, September 19th and 20th. Those with reservations for the Retreat please be at the church ready to go by 8:00 a.m. Saturday. If parents or young people have not consented to drive, don’t, as transportation has now been planned. Eat breakfast and take a sack lunch! Also, please note the list of needs in your Newsletter (no good clothes). There will be church school in the Senior Hi Department on Sunday for those who do not go. All ladies of the church, whether a member of a Circle, or not, are invited to the Women’s Fellowship meeting in Fellowship Hall on Monday, September 21st The meeting will begin at 7:30. The guest speaker for the evening will be Mrs. Iris Ferren, who will speak regarding the work among the Spanish Americans. Service Day (sewing for the Little Red Door) will begin again on Thursday, September 24th, 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 pan. If you can stay through the lunch hour, bring a sandwich: coffee and salad will be served by the hostess, Esther Circle. The Executive Committee of C. W. F. will meet at 1:00 pan. in the Jr. Hi Room. Choirs will begin rehearsing next week on the same schedule as last year: Wednesday—3:ls, Angelus Choir; 7:00 p.m., Chapel Choir. Thursday—3:ls, Chorale; 6:30, Motet; 7:30, Chancel. The first after-game Open House for Senior Hi young people will be held on Friday, September 25th in Fellowship Hall. Doors will open at 9:00 p.m. and will dose at 10:15, with the event ending at 11:30 p.m. Girls may wear slacks or bermudas during the football season, but later skirts and dresses should be worn. Dave Hooper will be at the mike. The rose on our lectern last Sunday announced the birth of Joel Kent, Jr., on September Bth to Mr. and Mrs. Joel Barksdale.
