ORDINANCE 335 (Continued from Page 1) creates a serious health hazard; and WHEREAS, the Town of Speedway has authority pursuant to statute to take measures to protect the public health; and WHEREAS, the connection of storm drains to the sanitary sewer system is inconsistent with Ordinance 198 of the Town of Speedway. NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Board of Trustees of the Town of Speedway, Indiana: Section 1. No person may connect storm drains to the sanitary sewer system of the Town of Speedway or permit storm drains to remain connected to the sanitary sewer system or in any other way introduce storm drainage into the sanitary sewer system. Section 2. The Town Engineer for the Town of Speedway and/or any of his representatives are authorized to enter the premises of any user of the Town’s sanitary sewer system to make an inspection designed to reveal connection of storm drains to the sanitary sewer. Section 3a. Upon discovering the existence of a connection between a storm drain and the sanitary sewer system, the Town authorities shall give notice to the owner of the premises on which the drain originates and direct the owner to have the connection severed. Section 3b. If the owner fails to have the connection severed within thirty (30) days of receiving a direction from the Town authorities to have it severed, the severed and assess the costs of severance against the owner. We are grateful indeed to the Central Avenue Methodist Church which, for two years, has loaned additional robes to our Chancel Choir. We hope, in the not too distant future, this will no longer be a necessity, as the funds became available to purchase more robes. Tickets go on sale, Sunday, September 6th, for the first Methodist Men Dinner on Monday, September, 21, at 6:30 pan. Don Lash, Olympic Runner and ex-FBI man is the guest. This is a Father-Son night! The price will be $.50 per ticket Bring your own steak (or hamburgers) for grilling over charcoal, the rest of the menu will be furnished. The Speedway Methodist Church will be hosting an Observation Practice School on September 18th at 2:00 pan. and September 19th all day. These sessions will be conducted to instruct teachers in the new Methodist Curriculum for the Church School. Anyone interested in teaching this coming year is asked to call the church office for reservations. The fee will be $3.00. Any member who would like to teach will be aided by the church with the fee if needed. The instructors are Mr. John P. Price, Nursery; Kindergarten, Mrs. Horace Bayles; Elementary I and 11, Mrs. Charles Ellinwood; Mrs. Richard Lancaster, Elementary HI and IV and the Elementary 111 and IV will be selected by the Conference.
