Mrs. Jaques said, *T am always pleased at the response Indaianapolis entertainers and oragnizations give to an affair like this, but this year has been even better than usual.” “The children and parents gain a great deal from an event of this kind since it offers a chance to relax with the .children and to visit with other parents who face similar problems”, Mrs. Jaques pointed out. -

Sidewalk Art Show At Westlane The Northwest Art League’s third annual sidewalk and juried show is scheduled to take place Sept. 10, 11, 12. The show is in Westlane Shopping Center, 71st and Michigan Road. Hours are from 2 to 8 pjn. each day. The League is sponsored by the Westlane Merchant’s Association, and as before they are donating cash prize awards to the winners of the juried show. All artist are invited to attend and must register to be eligible for prize money awards given. Registeration dates are: Aug. 27-28-29—Thursday through Saturday—l 2 noon to 6 pan. Paintings for the juried show must be at the shopping center from 9 a.m. to 12 noon on Thursday, Sept. 10th, and must be in place for judging by 12- noon. LABOR DAY TRAFFIC An intensive statewide “‘Lights On For Safety” program will, again, be promoted by the Indiana Traffic Safety Foundation for Hoosier and out-of-state vacationing motorists during the entire 78-hour Labor Day weekend, according to Albert E. Huber, executive director. The program is planned to develop full support for the concentrated safety efforts of state and local traffic officials. In the special safety effort all motorists, whether on city streets or rural highways, will be asked to turn on low beam headlights when driving during the period from 6:00 pan. Friday.
