Mrs. Robert E. Vandivier, chairman of the project sponsored by the Seventh District Federation of Clubs, says: “We hope everyone in Indianapolis who helped to revive the bell-ringing tradition last year will cooperate again. It’s a wonderful way to observe the anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.” The time for bell ringing is 2 p.m. (E.S.T.) (Indianapolis time) July 4. A Congressional resolution urged that each Fourth of July bells should be rung across America. The resolution suggested synchronizing the bells. The Liberty Bell in the tower of Independence Hall, Philadelphia, will be given a ceremonial tap to lead the chorus of bells. Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Camp Fire Girls, churches and other groups and individuals are asked to cooperate. Card of Thanks I wish to sincerely thank those who sent cards to cheer me, those who visited and helped ease the boredom of being in bed, those who sent food to tempt my appetite, those who prayed for my recovery, and those who helped in many other ways during my recent illness. I deeply appreciate your concern and wish there were other ways but words to express my gratitude. Mrs. George Stallwood ATTEND CHURCH

JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES CONVENTION A four-day district convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses to be held at the Indiana State Fairgrounds July 16-19 is expected to draw 10,000 delegates from five midwestern states, it was announced by Sylvester Strong, presiding minister of the West congregation. The huge task of organizing the assembly and caring for the delegates is being supervised from convention headquarters at 2764 East 55th Place, Indianapolis, Indiana. Chief concern of convention officials at this time is the search for the thousands of rooming accommodations that will be necessary to care for the delegates. “Though hotels and motels will house a large part of the visitors,” said Paul Sekela, rooming manager, “we are making a survey of Indianapolis homeowners who may be in position to accommodate foe remainder” Most of foe West congregation, are in a house-to-house search for sleeping rooms. It is expected that foe search for rooms, which began June 21, will continue until foe convention week. As foe rooms are found they are being processed by an office staff of about 20 workers at convention headquarters. Requests are carefully matched with accommodations available in foe various hotels, motels, and homes. Then both parties are notified by card. “That way,” said Nelson, “mix-ups are rare indeed.” Card of Thanks Words cannot express our gratitude to neighbors and friends of foe Speedway area for their expressions of sympathy, floral tributes, cards, and acts of kindness extended to us at the sudden pegging of our beloved husband and father, Roscoe Conkle.
