Johnson suggests that you read Chapter I of Romans—verses 1-17 in preparation for this sermon. During the first service the Cloister Choir will sing “An American Prayer” by Thiele. In the second service the Immanuel Choir will sing “List to the Lark” by Dickinson with Jayne Robards and Linda Strout, flutists. Miss Kitty Kirby will sing the Offertory Solo in both services. Because of the Sunday evening Baccalaureate at the Speedway High School, there will not be any M.Y.F. meetings this week. The Baccalaureate program will begin at 8 p.m. Senior Recognition Sunday will be held during the second services. All Seniors who attend Speedway Methodist Church are cordially invited to sit in a body near the front of the church. A breakfast will be held honoring the Seniors of our church Sunday morning, May 31 at 8 a.m. All Senior High M.Y.F. members are invited. The Commission on Missions will meet at the church Monday, June 1. The Trustees will meet at 7:30 pan. in Room 116 at the church Monday, June 1. The Mother and Daughter Banquet will be held in Fellowship Hall, June 3 at 6:30. p.m. Sunday, June 7, will be Choir Recognition Sunday at both services. There will be three choirs featured at each service. Campers Attention! Time is running out. Please enroll your child for camp this summer right away. Mrs. Welch will be in the parlor with full information and registration cards this Sunday between the first and second services. The Masses on Saturday morning will be at 6:15 and 8 o’clock . . . both Low Masses, because of the difficulty for the children to get to church to sing a High Mass. The 8 o’clock Mass will be said for the safety of all the Race personnel and those attending the race. As he has done in years past, Father Lindemann will be at the hospital tent during the race in case he is needed. On Monday, June Ist, the school will have their annual picnic. The Bth grade will leave for McCormick’s Creek after the 8 o’clock Mass and will return to the school about 5 p.m. The other grades will picnic here in the park. After the 8 o’clock Mass Thursday morning, June 4, the Bth grade boys and girls and their parents will attend the Bth Grade Graduation Breakfast in the school social room. At 8 pan. Thursday evening, the graduation exercises will be held in the church. Report cards will be distributed after the 8 o’clock Mass Friday morning, June 5, and school will be dismissed for the summer. Regular monthly Altar Society meeting is scheduled for Wednesday evening, June 3 at 8 p.m., in the school social room. The High Mass on Sunday morning at 10 o’clock was sung according to the intention of Rachel Joyce. On Monday morning at 8 o’clock, the Mass was sung for the intention of Phyllis Jean Overly. At 11:15 Tuesday morning, the Mass was for the intention of Sister Helen Cecil. An Anniversary Mass was said on Wednesday morning for John Craig at the request of the family. This morning the Mass was said according to the intention of Lisa Schultz. Tomorrow morning the High Mass will be at 8 o’clock. It will be for John J. Haney at the request of Grace Haney and daughters. Congratulations to Cadet Capt. Frank V. Sherman, the son of Jdrs. Rose Sherman and the late Vanard Sherman! On May 18th, Frank was presented with the Department of Indiana Veterans of Foreign Wars Plaque at Butler College. Father Richart conducted a Retreat the first of this week at Holy Spirit grade school. St. Gerrard Discussion Group met with Shirley Bische Tuesday night, May 26 at 8 o’clock.
