NEEDED! Needed! All women who are interested in helping young girls who have made mistakes. Helping them through creative arts, constructive crafts, and physical recreation. May 5, at 7:30 p.m., Frieda Lyda, who is superintendent of the Indiana State Girls Schopl, will be in Speedway to talk to all interested women about a program of volunteer work "to be done at the Girls’ School. She will be speaking in the Speedway Methodist Church chapel. There is no volunteer group connected with the school specifically, although a few groups do occasionally go and put on a program. Through the efforts of the Speedway Jaycee Jaynes we are hoping to form a committee of all interested people to help these girls. Many of the girls attend school, but they and the rest of the girls do care for the cottages and the preparation of their food. But like all normal teenagers some of their energies need to be channeled into other constructive uses. By helping them in these areas while they are at the Girls’ School we will be giving them a chance to return to society a better person and with some different outlooks on life. For any further information please call Mrs. Jack Wilson, AX 1-9363, or attend this very important meeting.

PAINT NOW EASIER, QUICKER, SAYS LOCAL MERCHANT “In the last five years, modern Chemical science has brought about more changes in the paint industry than at any other time in its history,” say Erwin Hamke, local Minnesota paint dealer. “Not only entirely new types of paints, but also new methods of mixing colors have enabled us to have paints that are easier tq apply, smoother leveling, lower in odor and faster drying.” Erwin Hamke invites the public to come into his new paint department and see the revolutionary new paints for themselves.
“Today’s paint is fresher due to fast distribution. Gone is the ‘painty’ odor and the long hours of waiting for the new coat to dry.” Mr. Hamke, owner of Rainbow Paint and Supply, is offering a free plastic measuring cup to visitors in conjunction with the opening of his new line of Minnesota Paints. The public is invited to inspect the new colors and special finishes available and to pick up the large 16-ounce measuring cup as a free gift. “Color,” he continues, “is more evident in homes throughout the country. Most people today place an important emphasis on individual creativeness in home decorating whether they do the job themselves or work with a professional painter. “The modern colors available in our ‘Minnesota line,” concludes Mr. Hamke, “offer a new adventure in painting . . . and it’s fun!” SPEEDWAY HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI DANCE JUNE 13, 1964 WESTSIDE K OF C
