BE A MENTAL HEALTH COFFEE HOSTESS An urgent appeal for coffee hostesses for Mental Health Learn and Serve Coffee Day was issued today by Mrs. Donald Wood, 6467 East Holiday Drive, Coffee Day Chairman of the Marion County Association for Mental Health. The Coffees, to be held in homes all over the community, are for the purpose of increasing understanding of the mentally ill; recruiting volunteers for Mental Health programs in the hospitals and community; and enrolling members in the Association. A hostess may invite as few or as many guests as she wishes, just serve them coffee and time in Channel 6. Marion County Association for Mental Health will provide invitations and specially prepared hostess coffee kits containing literature and information about the mentally ill and retarded. TOWNNOT/CE/ (Continued from page 1) the Town of Speedway, Indiana, from the owners of property served by the Sewage Treatment Works of said Town, which Ordinance was amended on March 13, 1961 by Ordinance No. 290; and WHEREAS, the revenues received from the rates and charges established by said Ordinance No. 198 as amended by Ordinance No. 290 are substantially in excess of the amount required to meet the expenses of operation, repair and maintenance, and the requirements of the Sewage Works Sinking Fund; and WHEREAS, until the Water Treatment Plant under construction by the Town of Speedway on Eagle Creek is in use and operation, it is deemed necessary by the Town of Speedway to encourage the conservation of water during summer months by eliminating the provision in Ordinance No. 198 which provided for no additional sewage charge to residential users for water used in lawn sprinkling during the summer months; and WHEREAS, the Town of Speedway, pursuant to Section 12 of bond Ordinance No. 197, is authorized and empowered to change and readjust such rates or charges from time to time, if necessary, so that the revenues therefrom shall always be sufficient to meet the expenses of operation, repair and maintenance, and the requirements of the Sewage Works Sinking Fund; and

WHEREAS, the Town of Speedway proposes to readjust said rates and charges substantially pro rata as to all classes of service and in conformity with all applicable laws; now therefore, BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Trustees of the Town of Speedway, Indiana: Section 1. That sub-section (b) (1) of Section 1 of Ordinance No. 198 of the Town of Speedway, Indiana, as amended by Ordinance No. 290, be amended as follows: “(b) The watter usage schedule on which the amount of said rates and charges shall be determined shall be as follows: (1) Residential and Commercial Users:

Section 2. That sub-section (e) of Section 1 of Ordinance No. 198 of the Town of Speedway, Indiana be amended as follows: “(e) Such rates and charges shall be applied to the water consumption billed after this ordinance shall have been placed in effect.” Section 3. The rates and charges fixed by this ordinance shall become effective on all bills issued to the respective users on and after April 1, 1964. Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage. Approved and adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Town of Speedway on the 23rd day of March, 1964. L. G. Leonard J. F. FREE CHEST X-RAY, BLOOD TYPING AND HEARING TESTS Because of the high registration by its members, the Speedway PT A is sponsoring a Health Fair to be held April 16 at St. Andrews Lutheran Church, located by the Speedway Shopping Center. The Marion County Tuberculosis Association is sending a chest x-ray unit which will operate from 4:30 to 9 p.m. The Marion County Heart Association will also be doing free blood typing at this time. (This is done on just* a finger stick). These two services will be only for those 18 years or older. The Marion County Speech and Hearing Clinic will be giving free hearing screening tests for all ages. They further agreed to do speech evaluation tests on preschool and school age children who might have speech problems. We would like to test these children from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. before the adults. EUCHRE PARTY The Drexel Garden’s Fire Dept, will sponsor a euchre party at the Fire Station, 5245 W. Naomi St., Friday evening, April 17. Game time, 8 p.m. Refreshments will be served all evening. Plenty of good prizes. Public invited. CARD PARTY The Ladies Auxiliary of Mickleyville Fire Dept, are sponsoring an all day card party on Wednesday, April 22nd at the fire station, 817 S. Ingomar.
