(Continued rrom Page 1) United States government. The American National Theater and Academy of New York was the sponsoring organization for this cultural exchange tour. Mr. Guthrie has been the Minister of Music for several large churches throughout the country, conductor of the Kansas City Philharmonic Chorus for three seasons. During this period of work in Kansas City he prepared the choral work for a series of six major operas. At the present time, he is the Minister of Music of the Broadway Methodist Church, 609 E. 29th St. As the music director of the church he has a system of seven choirs. In two years the Broadway Choir has performed “The Elijah” Mendelssohn; “Amahl and the Night Visitors” Menotti; “The Seven Last Words” Dubois. As the conductor of the Indianapolis Community Choir he has extended his philosophy of the potential of each singer in the choir in each rehearsal of the choir. As a result of this focus, the choir has within its membership the professionally trained singer, who wishes to continue his or her professional work, as well as the aspiring singer who has the possibility of learning a good singing technique. For a new organization, the growth of this choir has been astronomical
