AMATEUR BASEBALL Plans are in process to field a Speedway team in the Indianapolis Amateur Baseball Association Sunday League. There is no age limit on players in this league. The present plans are to keep the number of players on the team to a minimum, so that all ran play more. This means, though, that preference will be given to players who we feel will be regular m attendance. Smee the Speedway Baseball Association probably will not be able to assume all of the expenses, it will be necessary for each player to contribute approximately $lO. If you are interested contact Tom Strouse, Sr., CH. 1-6530 as soon as possible, since a decision as to whether or not we will enter must be reached very shortly.

KIWAMS SPONSORS GRBN CANDLE OF HOPE To the millions of people Md in bondage behind the iron curtain, green is the color of hope. During the Christmas season and at Easter they sometimes risk imprisonment and death by lighting the green candles and displaying them. In doing so, they express both hope and a desire for freedom. Refugees arriving from the captive nations brought the custom with them. In 1957, Kiwanis International decided to sponsor a similar observance in the United States and Canada as a token of friendship and sympathy for those who are unable to share our freedom. This week, as the week preceding Easter, the Kiwanis Club of northwest Indianapolis will hold a candle-lighting ceremony at their regular meeting in observance of this friendship for those captive nations behind the iron curtain. Kiwanis meets each Wednesday at the 500 Speedway Motel at 6:30 p.m.
