Church will be the guest speaker at both services of worship on Sunday, January 26. The Crusader Choir under the direction of Mrs. John F. Moe win sing at the 9:00 o’clock service. At the 10:45 o’clock service the Chancel Choir under the direction of Mrs. Helen Hecht will sing .the Anthem, “Praise My Soul, The King of Heaven” by Young. The Offertory Solo, “Behold, What Manner of Love” by MacDermid, will be sung by Mr. K. Richard Hartley. Mrs. James B. Schoonover will play the pre-service organ meditation. Jr. Hi MYF will visit the Lebanon Children’s Home Sunday afternoon. We will leave the Church at 12:30 pjn., and will be back by 4:30 pjn. Anyone wishing to bring a snack lunch to Church, is welcome to stay and eat with the group. Everyone is to bring a dozen cookies and a lot of friendliness. Sr. Hi MYF will meet at 5:30 pjn., instead of 6:00 p.m„ at the church. They will have a panel consisting of representatives from the Welfare Agency, the Public Health Service, A Settlement House, and a Down Town Church. Our theme is “My Brother is a Stranger.” Mendelssohn’s Oratorio, “Hymn of Praise” will be presented by the Methodist Oratorio Choir in the Sanctuary, on Sunday evening, January 26, at 7:30 p.m. All choirs will rehearse at the regular scheduled hours. The Commission, on Education will meet on Monday, January 27, at 7:30 p.m., at the church. The Bible Study and Discussion group, under the direction of Mrs. Charles M. Johnson, will meet on Tuesday, January 28, at 9:30 a.m., at the church. The Young Married Class will have a Progressive Dinner, February 1, at 6:30 p.m. It will start at the home of Mr. and Mrs. David T. In the semi-final game the Sparkplugs upset Decatur Central, which has lost only one game during the season, by a 52-50 score. In their first game of the tourney the Plugs defeated Franklin Central 61-44. Enrollment for adult evening classes will be at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, January 27, in Room 159 of the high school. Room 159 is near the south west entrances of the high school. Classes will meet from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday evenings beginning February 4. If enrollments are greater than facilities and teachers available, Speedway residents will be given preference over persons living outside Speedway. Possible courses are typing, clothing, developmental reading and other subjects that have at least 12 enrollees.

After having had four weeks of basic instruction in the fundamentals of basketball, one hundred and six fifth and sixth grade boys participating in the elementary intramural basketball program have been grouped into twelve teams. The eight weeks scheduling of games got under way in the James A. Allison gymnasium beginning the week of December 16, 1963.
