(Continued from Page 1) visions of this ordinance to refuse, upon request, to exhibit said license to the Town Marshal or his duly appointed Deputy or to any other person having the legal authority to inquire into the mat(7) Nd license for the owning, keeping or harboring of any dog in the Town of Speedway shall be issued by the Clerk Treasurer to any person, without and unless such person so desiring such license shall first present to the -Clerk-Treasurer the certificate of a veterinarian licensed under the State of Indiana showing that the dog for which a license is sought, has been vaccinated against rabies by the administration of an antirabic vaccine within a period of cne (1) year prior to the date of request for said license. Section 3. Rabies and Hydrophobia—(l) It shall be the duty of the Marshal or his duly appointed deputy to capture, if possible, or kill, if necessary, any dog thought to be affected with hydro, phobia or rabies. (2) All animal bites~ shall be reported to the proper state or 'County health authorities as provided in the Indiana statutes. (3) A person owning or harboring any animal reported to have "bitten any person shall keep the same confined not less than fourteen (14) days. A report of said animal’s condition shall be made to the proper state or county health authorities on the third, seventh, tenth and fourteenth day, and any animals showing signs of illness must be taken to a veterinarian or kennel for safekeeping. Section 4. Enticing Dogs—lt shall be unlawful to entice any licensed dog from the premises of the person owning, keeping, or harboring the same or to entice any such licensed dog from any street, alley or public place in this ■city with the intention of depriving the owner, keeper or person harboring the same of the posses*sion thereof.

Section 5. Keeping Annoying 'Dogs—lt shall be unlawful for any person to own, keep, or harbor any dog which, by frequent or habitual howling, yelping, "barking or otherwise shall cause serious annoyance or disturbance to persons in the neighborhood. Section 6. Enticing Dogs to Tight—lt shall be unlawful for any person to incite or set dogs to fighting in any street, alley, public place or private enclosure within this Town. Section 7. Poisoned Meat shall be unlawful to throw or deposit poisoned meat or any poison or poisoned or harmful substance in any street, alley or public place or on any private premise in this Town for the purpose of destroying any dog or other animal.

Section 8. Dogs not to Run Loose—lt shall be unlawful for the owner or any other person having the possession, care, custody or control thereof to permit any dog to run at large upon public streets, or walks or parks or upon private property, other than the dog owner’s private property, unless such dog be attached to a leash of not more than seven (7) feet in length, of sufficient strength to restrain such dog and said dog shall be kept under the control of the person accompanying it. Section 9. Duty of the Marshal —lt shall be the duty of the Marshal or his duly appointed deputy to apprehend all dogs running loose and place them in a kennel designated by the Town Board of Trustees. It shall also be the duty of the Town Marshal or his duly appointed deputy to notify the owners of all licensed dogs having a dog tag attached to them when apprehended that said dog is being held in the kennel. Section 10. Dogs io be Held Three Days—All dogs apprehended whether licensed or not, by the Town Marshal or his duly appointed deputy, shall be taken to a kennel designated by the Town Board of Trustees and there held until claimed. If not claimed within three (3) days the dog shall be turned over to the Marion County Sheriffs Office. Section 11. Owner Claiming Licensed Dog—The owner of any licensed dog apprehended for running loose may obtain said dog by paying to the Clerk-Treasurer a boarding fee of $1.70 for each day or fraction of day thereof the dog is in the kennel plus a fine of $2.50. The owner of any licensed dog apprehended for running loose more than one time may obtain said dog by paying to the Clerk-Treasurer a boarding fee of $1.70 per day or fraction of day thereof the dog is in the kennel plus a fine of $5.00 on each additional occasion that the said dog is so confined. A day as used in this section shall be defined as 24 hours from the time the dog is actually placed in the kennel. Section 12. Owner Claiming Vnlicened Dog—The owner of any unlicensed dog apprehended for running loose may obtalh said dog by paying to the Clerk-Treasurer a boarding fee of $1.70 for each day or fraction of day thereof the dog is kept in the kennel plus a fine of $5.00.
