ST, CSRISTSnmB’S CATHCUC CHURCH (Continued from Page D Margaret Brooks who died Thursday at Long Hospital following heart surgery. Rosary was said for her Sunday night at the Conkle Funeral Home. Services were Monday morning in the Funeral Home and St. Christopher Church with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery. Your prayers are requested for the repose of the soul of Mrs. Emma Frances O’Neal who died Saturday morning at her home from an attack of asthma. Rosary was said for her Monday night at the Conkle Funeral Home. Services were Tuesday morning at the Funeral Home and St. Christopher Church with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery. The officers of St. Christopher CYO and Father Richart as Moderator were among the chartered three bus loads of girls and the three bus loads of boys who left Wednesday evening for New York City to attend the CYO National Convention at the Conrad-Hilton Hotel. There is to be a Men’s Card Party Saturday evening, November 23d, from 6:30 to 11:30, in the school social room. For the two dollars admission twelve turkeys will be given away free and a twenty-five dollar door prize. Men of the parish and their men friends are cordially invited to attend. Girl Scout Troop 97 of the 7th and Bth grades of St. Christopher school are inviting parents to leave their small children with thorn in the church basement while they are attending the 10 o’clock High Mass on Sunday. They are doing this as a public service to their church while working on their Marian award. Congratulations to Beverly and Paul Bailey of 6929 W. 13th street! We received a card last week announcing that “we have adopted a baby.” Her name is Barbara Lynn and her birthday is August 24th. A High Mass was sung at 8 o’clock Monday morning for the living and deceased members of St. Christopher parish. At 11:15 Tuesday morning the High Mass was for Mary Martin at the request of Anna Pagach. The Ted Kulaga family requested the Mass on Wednesday morning be said for Lawrence Kuczenski. This morning the Mass was for Nettie Aliheide at the request of the James Keating family. An Anniversary Mass will be said tomorrow morning fox Anna Riedy. Helen Riedy requested the Mass. The Mass on Saturday morning at 8 o’clock will be for Frank Kreffel at the request of his widow, Ruth Kreffel. There was no 6:15 Mass this morning, and there will be no 8:15 Mass Friday, Saturday, or Monday mornings, because Father Richart will be away from the parish.

Miss Pat Pirtle will give the program, “Introduction to India.” Mary-Martha Circle will meet Wednesday, November 20th with Mrs. Alfred Hayes, 4934 W. 14th. The program will concern the Circle’s project, “Goodwill Industries.” Time: 9:00 a.m. Lydia Circle will meet Wednesday, November 20th at 1:00 pan. with Mrs. Carrol McDonald, 5114 W. Uth St. The program, “Caught In The Web” will be presented. Priscilla Circle will meet Thursday, November 21st at 9:00 a.m. with Mrs. Donaldeen Reich, 1731 Cunningham. Members are asked to remember to bring white gifts for Wheeler Mission. Service Day will be one week early this month due to Thanksgiving. Ladies of the church and community will meet in Fellowship Hall Thursday, November 21st, from 9:00 to 3:00 to sew for the Little Red Door. There is to be an article appearing in the Star in the spring on the Little Red Door and there will be a photographer at the November meeting to take pictures of our group at work. Come early and stay through the lunch hour (bring a sandwich). CWF Executive Committee will meet at 1:00 pan. Thursday. November 21st. Choirs will rehearse as usual, next week. SPEEDWAY O.£.S. CARD PARTY Friday, November 15th is the date set for the O.E.S. Card Party to be held in the Junior High School Gym at Uth and Winton. Featured will be a style show by Paul Harris. Plenty of prizes, homemade candy and soft drinks. Please bring your own cards. PERSONALS The Rev. Arthur G. Vermillion, Christian Church of Speedway, participated in an Institute on Adult Education held recently at Indiana University. Participants studied techniques of education and psychology in instructing classes for adults in their home communities. Egler, Kathleen Stevens. Twelve from Marion County are among 46 students elected to the Freshman Class Council at Indiana University. Each Council member represents a given number of students within his or her residential area. The Council acts in an advisory capacity to the freshmen class president, and is one of many student groups active in Student Government at I. U. Those from Speedway are: David Hamer, 4964 W. 12th, and Dan Skomp, 5839 W. 29th Place. TRAP SHOOT The Marion County Fish and Game Association (located on Highway 136 at Eagle Creek one mile west of Speedway), will have their next trap and spot shoot Sunday afternoon, Nov. 1?. The ladies group will serve lunch. We now have two traps in operation. Public is invited to participate.
Bazur-Turkey Dinner Nov. 15 The Old Fashioned Bazaar and Turkey Dinner next Friday, November IS, at Michigan St Methodist Church at West Michigan St. and Sheffield will be held in the church basement. There will be a noon luncheon served from 11 a.m. to 1 pan. for businessmen and patrons of the neighborhood. The menu will include beans and cornbread, fish, salad and dessert.
