The collection of the states sales tax will result in a reduction of the 1964 Speedway school tax rate recently set by the County Tax Adjustment Board at $3.69. Due to a number of variable factors the amount of reduction will not be known until the State Tax Board meets in December. However, it appears that the final rate will be close to the 1963 rate of $3.05. After the County Tax Adjustment Board had tentatively set all county school levies, the Speedway rate of $3.69 was about $1.15 lower than any other county jschool jprporation rate. The varsity football team defeated Danville 12-7 in a hardfought Mid-State conference game *last Friday night In other foot- ' ball games last week the freshman team won from Westlane 14-6 and the junior high team lost to Tabernacle 13-0.
