J.C. Rjtgt JAKE Open letter to the citizens of Speedway: Only the citizens of Speedway can finalize the success of the Town Forum. October 29, 1963 at 7:30 p.m. in the Speedway Junior High School. What we think of dur town will be reflected on this all important night. How? Why? you may ask. Well here is the answer. Plans have been made for the meeting place, the candidates have agreed to be present, issues involving taxes, employment and many other issues are sure to be discussed. The Indianapolis Star and News, the Times, and Speedway Flyer have agreed to send reporters and photographers. It now becomes very evident that if you as a citizen fail to be present, you will be reflecting the citizens LACK of INTEREST in your Town government. YoU have the opportunity and obligation to meet and hear the candidates discuss the issues concerning your Town government. Surely this election is going to be decided on the local issues, not merely on the popularity of the candidates. Only you the citizens can bring the Town out from under “Black Shadow” Lack of Interest. In the spirit of true Americanism your Speedway Jaycees urge you to stand-up and be counted; by attending your TOWN FORUM. J. C. JAKE Marvin L. Hocker State Director INTERESTED IN CUB SCOUTING?
