Notice of Hearing Before Public Service Commission Notice is hereby given to the citizens, taxpayers and water users of the Town of Speedway that said Town did on September 10, 1963, file with the Public Service Commission of Indiana its petition for approval of the issuance of bonds designated as “Waterworks Revenue Bonds, *’ for the purpose of procuring funds to be used in paying the cost of construction of certain additions, extensions and improvements to the waterworks owned and operated by said Town. Said bonds have been authorized by Ordinance No. 321, adopted by the Board of Trustees of said Town on September 9, 1963, under the provisions of Chapter 155 of the Acts of 1929, as amended, and will not constitute an indebtedness of the Town in its corporate capacity but will be payable solely out of the revenues of the municipally owned waterworks of the Town. Notice is further given (that in said petition the Town of Service Commission of Indiana Speedway requests the Public to increase the water rates now in effect in said Town in accordance with Ordinance No. 322, adopted by the Board of Trustees on September 9, 1963. Said petition will be heard by the Public Service Commission

I am proud that Speedway has managed to keep such a low tax rate in comparison to their high standard of living. I can personally testify to the high educational standards of our Speedway schools, having lived in both Indianapolis and Speedway and having graduated (3) children from the Speedway High School, and presently have (1) in elementary school and (1) in Junior High. Speed and efficiency of operation of our town government must be maintained, since we are a fast growing community. Of course there is always room for improvement. ' Flood control of Speedway needs proper precaution to prevent future disasters. For this control I will exert myself continually. I believe we must get and keep the best qualified personnel. Recreation for youth and adults is necessary in Speedway. We must maintain and improve our places for play and recreation. I have resided at 5515 Maplewood Drive, Speedway, for 7 years. I am a Supervisor at the Allison Division of General Motors Corporation, having been employed there 22 years. I am a member of the Speedway Methodist Church and was instrumental in the building program there. Presently, I am Chairman of the Official Board. I served 3 years as Church School Superintendent, and 3 years as Lay Leader for my Church. I am a member of the Scottish Rite, and Speedway Masonic Lodge No. 729. I am interested in sports, having been Indiana State Horseshoe Pitching Champion (5) times. Also a founder of the American Horseshoe Pitching Association, which has now become a National Organization. I designed and manufacture my own Pitching Horseshoes. I have been a coach and assistant coach in Little League. I am married, have (6) children, (1) a registered Nurse (2) attending Purdue University, (3) smaller ones at home. We enjoy living in Speedway. I will do to the best of my ability, preserve, improve, and promote those issues vital to the town of Speedway.
