TOWN CANDIDATES (Continued from page 1) Clerk-Treasurer. Any resident of the Town of Speedway who is over 21 years of age and has not been disfrancised by undergoing a sentence of imprisonment on conviction for a felony or misdemeanor may be a candidate for the Town Board of Trustees if nominated at the meeting by another resident of such candidate’s ward and if the nomination is seconded in like manner. Any resident of the Town may be a candidate for Clerk-Treasurer of the Town and can be nominated and seconded by any other resident of the Town. At the close of nominations, balloting at the meeting will be held to seleit the top two candidates for each office. Each qualified Speedway resident in attendance at the meeting may ballot for one candidate for Trustee from each ward and one Clerk-Treasurer at large. Following the balloting, the Citizens Party and Peoples Party -will be organized. The candidate receiving the highest number of votes in each ward shall be petitioned for as the candidates for the Citizens Party and the candidates receiving the second highest number of votes in each ward shall be petitioned for as the candidates for the Peoples party. Procedure of rules for conduct of the meeting will be published prior to the meeting. PERSONALS Miss Margaret Lucinda Jones, 5545 Meadowood Drive, is spending this week at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, attending the Eastern Area American Red Cross Leadership Training Center. She was one of ten students selected from Indianapolis high schools to represent this Indianapolis Chapter. More than 180 high school youth from an area of eight states meet to exchange ideas about Red Cross activities and to study skill of giving service and leadership to their community. Margaret is a sophomore at Speedway High School. Douglas Eugene Messick, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Messick, 238 North High School Road and Daniel K. Straut, the son of Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Straut, 2308 Winton, spent two days at Ball State Teachers College participating in the freshman orientation program and enrolling for fall classes at the college. Messick plans to major in art and Straut will be a physical education major. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas R. Whitton were recent guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard L. Whitton, 1933 Patton Drive, while enroute to Ithaca, New York, where he will enter a sixteenmonth training program for Morse Chain Division of Borg Warner Corporation. Tom recently graduated from Murray State College.
